Need Clue on Installation of New Rear Brake Lines

I've got a set of SS rear brake lines to install and was a little surprised to discover that these appear to require that the caliper be screwed onto the downstream hose fitting (or hose and caliper rotated to screw the hose into the upstream fitting). If this is the case, then I need to remove the parking brake cable in order to rotate the caliper. I have the brake cable disengaged from the parking brake lever arm, but don't seem to be able to pull the parking brake cable housing out of the caliper. Before looking for a BFH I thought I'd better ask how others have dealt with cable removal?

Thx.

Alan
