SS Brake Line Help!

I was trying to install SS Brake Lines today and I could not get the lines off to save my life. I was able to get one on however (Front drivers side) and that was it. I was having trouble where it connected to the hard line, not where it went to the brake system itself. I WD-30ed it about 5 times and still didn't budge. Does anyone know an easy way of trying to get these damn things off, or a certain tool that might help me out? I did try using pipe wrenches, heavy duty pliers, and wrenches. I did successfully bleed my brakes though.

Working on brake lines is best done with flare wrenches. Imagine a box end wrench (6 flats, not 12) with one removed so you can slip it over the line and then down onto the fitting. They are normally made stronger due to the cut-out, so they don't flex, and are less likely to round over the edges of the fitting. They come in metric and SAE sizes. Use an open end wrench to determine what size you need. Should be able to get Craftsman ones at sears, and I have a good set of flex end ones that I got from Griots Garage. Quite handy in tight areas. Just be careful and absolutely try not to damage a fitting on a hard line or you're screwed.
Good luck! Oh, and try some WD40, it's 10 better than WD-30.

Yes, def get a set of line wrenches and you should be able to get it loose.

+1 on six point flared wrench. Sometimes I use 6 point combos and they work as well.

Be careful with 12 point wrenches as you may round off the nuts...

I was able to get 3 on all together... the front ones were easy when I had the right tools. (I bought the flare wrenches and a good pair of vise grips). The one rear one that I did was a big PITA that I didn't even bother with the other one. It took forever to get the line off because of only having like 2 inches of wrench movement (I'm a big guy so little spaces don't work for me) Then when I got it off i realized that the new line wont fit. So I had to scramble to find a file which we didn't have so I had to run to my uncles house to get one. All while leaking brake fluid. So I had to put the old one on while I left and then came home and had to take it off again. Then I used the bleeder cap to cap off the hard line while I filed for and hour. Needless to say I was a very unhappy camper after that one so I decided it wasn't worth putting the last one on.

Thanks for the info guys! At least I now have 3 on instead of only 1.
