I would recommend you get some mcgard wheel locks.

Mcgard is a very high quality wheel lock. That being said, if someone wants your wheels bad enough they will take them.

found this to be a bit disheartening (tutorial on how to remove wheel locks without key)

I am now extremely paranoid of my precious black 17x7 rpf1's w/hankook ventus v12 evo tires

what exactly are my options? (please no jokes or clever answers like: sell your wheels or never put em on)

besides wheel locks, what else can i do?

all i can think is clamping on a boot like i've seen people do at my school

i keep thinking of how popular rpf1's are, especially in 17x7 and black!

my only reassurance is that it is a 4x100 pattern which is only useful to us mini owners and old civics??

Mcgaurd has many types of locks. It would be difficult to find a key exactly like the one you have. Those locks will keep most thieves at bay, but as I've said & you've seen on youtube if someone wants them bad enough they are going to get them.

Another option would be to use a set of Mcgaurd spline drive lugs. That way instead of a thief having to remove 4 locks he'll have to remove 16 & that may discourage him enough to move on.

Mcguard makes excelent wheel locks. I have also used gorilla locks witch are well made also.

As far as locks go, we have proven they could stop casual theives, but anyone who would like around can do so pretty easily.

I have also seen locks create frustration resulting in addional
vehicle related malice.

Trying to be cognisant of where your parking, this would your best bet.

Hate to add to your paranoia, but these were/are used by thieves just for wheel locks:

Wheel locks are only a "peace-of-mind" tool. If you're in the wrong place and the wrong time, and somebody really wanted your wheels, they'd be gone. The locks only stops normal idiots from taking them.
