Got some new rubber

Picked up some 215/45/17 Falken Azenis RT-615s for the Mini. I had these before on my MkV GTI. Loved'em. I'm gonna get to try them out on Sunday at the autocross season opener.

I'm happy to be rid of the run-flats. Even though I only had them on for 700 miles... lol

They look good, putting a set on my MINI in April, 205/50/15. Can't wait for summer tire time.

The Falken Azenis RT-615 was the once the superior A/X tire, I loved them. There is now a whole new crop of sticky tires that surpass the RT-615 dry handling capabilities AND have very good rain performance as well.

That's good to know I guess.

There was a deal with my tire guy I got $100 off the set plus free install and balance. Hard to pass-up. Since I don't have an infinite amount of $$$ I did okay...

What did you do with the 700-mile-old runflats?

I kept them. My Dad has an '08 MCS with silver Crownspokes. He likes having the runflats. So I'll give them to him.

Hey Agro, my Dad decided to go with some non-RFT Hankooks so I have those spare RFTs if you are still interested. Check your PMs or shoot me one.

I just put on some RT-615s as well due to the great price. We will see how I like them over my RS2s.

I just got through burning off a set of RT-615's. Liked 'em in every way...but...they will not last long at all. I used mine for only one autocross, then daily use, they were gone at around 9-10K miles. They were really, really greasy for about the last 1000 too. I just replaced them with some Sumitomo HTR-Z II's. I am sure they aren't as sticky but also sure they will last much longer.
