Help! Trouble deciding which rims to buy.

Well first off i want to get some new rims for my 2005 MC. Its red with a white roof and white rims. I defiantly want to get some black rims but im having trouble deciding which rims to buy. i dont have the biggest budget in the world so price cant be too high.

here are a few im looking at. and feel free to suggest others.
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...dClar=Standard

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...dClar=Standard

And i'm not sure what size the wheels have to be. i need to get new tires soon so im hoping to just get rims with the new tires so i can kill two birds with one stone. so what size rim fits on the 05 mc?

Any help would be appreciated :]

TD PR 1 or 1.2.
Classic, functional design.
Light. Strong. Cheap.
The real deal.

PR1

PR 1.2

TD 1.2 if you were to go with Team Dynamics

OP, from those 3 models you listed I would go with the third one 17" offset 40 17lbs. I personally wouldn't upgrade wheels if they weight more than 1lb per inch. The other 2 on your list weight almost 19lbs. Like the others posted, Konig Feather and Team Dynamics look more suited for the Mini.

Tazio im thinking about those two. Any preference. i think they both look sweet, well they look the same. i wasn't even thinking about weight to be honest.

whatever you guys think. i was going for the matte black cause i think it looks sweet even if they are dirty. thats the problem with my white rims the brake dust just ruins them after a day or two.

i was also thinking about performance. i was hoping to up the horsepower in my mini. any suggestions? i have about 600 bucks to spend after getting the rims most likely. i was thinking about an intake but i need some suggestions.

Which stock wheels you have in your car right now? The stock 17's in my '06 weight 25lbs. You are better off getting some lighter wheels (that will help with acceleration and handling...plus looks ) than starting to do engine mods. Just my 2 cents since I give more importance to suspension/handling over HP mods.

I think the PR1 is a nicer design. They came out with the PR1.2 to meet rules for spec racing which prohibit the spokes from projecting beyond the lip. Not good for wheel-to-wheel contact... So the 1.2 is definitely an aesthetic compromise over the 1. I also think the embossed lettering on the rim of the 1.2 is a bit much.

The TeamDynamics Pro Race 1.2 are sweet though in matte black.

What suspension/tire are you running? I want those wheels, just a bit concern about tires rubbing against the fender once I get the coilovers.

JCW springs with 8mm spacers in front. Had some rubbing with 15mm front spacers and 5mm in rear, so backed off a notch and all is good now.

Spacers were for looks or were the tires originally rubbing against the struts?

I have a fully stock 2005 MC. it has the white rims with 5 spokes. i think*. i can upload some pics tomorrow and you guys can tell me what you think. i think the pr1's look sweet and i totally agree about the lettering on the 1.2s. i just did a few things for looks, i added driving lights and checkered handles and blacked out side blinkers. so im looking for the nice matte black rims to take away some white.

where can i get the pr1's

In outmotoring.com they have these message in the product description of the wheel:

***This wheel has been basically been discontinued by Team Dynamics. It can technically still be purchased but the price has nearly doubled and they are only availble by special order from the UK and may take up to 8 weeks for delivery to the USA.***

Just in case give them a call. You can also try Mach at www.fastmini.net

From what I've heard Motegi's are cheap (easily scratch/chip from rocks etc.)

I wanted black at first but was disappointed after checking out pics. I don't feel like you can see the design of the wheel if they are black. I went with the Elbrus I04 rim because it was black with silver highlights on it. It looks great.

There's pics in my gallery if that link doesn't work. They are the 5 spokes...

I hope you find what you're looking for though!

p.s. Of your three choices I like the Enkei's

To see how they may look on your car I built a tool called WheelFinder. You do not need to be registered to use it.

I'm on the same boat as you...still looking. However, I do like the Pro 1.2 over the 1.0 because I don't like when the face of the wheel protudes outwards from the wheel edge. I don't have other wheel candidates as it seems most of the wheels available for the Mini (as I've seen in this forum) have a lip. I prefer wheels where the poke goes all the way to the edge

And heavy! Motegi separates their lightweight forged wheel line by calling it Motegi Track and the cast wheels Motegi Racing.

They also come in ET35 Also, black is popular, but they also have white, silver, black w/silver lip, and black w/ red lip. They even have a 4x100 ET30, not sure you can run a 225 width tire with that offset w/o hitting your outer fender. Check Team Dynamics UK site and see if local retailer can get you specific application.
