I don't a real grasp of offset on wheels. What I think is know is; it is a measure of how much the point of the wheel which rests aqainst the hub, is offset from the center point between the front and rear rims. My car has 215/45/17's, and H-Sport springs. What is the range I of offset, assuming there is one, which will work on my set up?

According to the all knowing, Randy Webb...don't go past 42 offset or you'll start to rub. I have 205s and they are at the limit with my hsport springs. Since you have 215, you might want to go with 43 or more to keep them sidewall new

When you say "don't go past 42" are you saying, don't go with a number smaller than 42? What is the largest number that you can go with, or would that direction be infinite? The original question asks about a "range."

maxwell.
i'd say that you're safe anywhere from 38-48 offset.
you can't go higher, but you could possibly go lower!
f.y.i. stock mini wheels are 48

38 to 41 is pushing it unless you don't mind scuffing your side walls. Stock S-Lite is 45 (umm..I think).

So, Silver...as far as you're concerned, the "safe range" would be 42-48?
