R99 Wheels Alternatives, Imitations or Similar

Does anyone know if there are any R99 imitation wheels or anything that looks really close to R99's? I know there are the Enkei RPF1's but it's not close enough. I really love the R99 look. Any help is appreciated. I searched all over tire rack but they don't have it. I wanted to buy from a place that sells tires as well and have them mounted and balanced. But at this point any place taht sells it is fine.

In case anyone is wondering. They look like this.

I have Team Dynamic Motorsports wheels and they are sort of similar. 6 double spokes instead of 7 though.... These wheels have a large center cap that completely covers the lugs, but they are not on in this picture.

+1!

I'll vouch for Team Dynamics (although I don't have the same style). My Pro Race II's are amazing. Very light weight, and excellent quality. I'd go with them over the R99's any day of the week!

If it's a $$ thing I found good set on the marketplace, for mine. Just gotta be patient and keep an eye out. Compared to the dealer it was 4 for the price of 1.

It was actually your car that I caught the look from. You got custom blacked out R99s. I'm jealous.

Thanks

They were advertised as "some small scratches" I strained to find them but figured I was safe since I planned to paint anyways. Powder coating was going to be what I paid per wheel, so a few rattle cans and I never have to worry about brake dust

The motorsports style above are a little harder to come by. I bought them directly from the distributor by emailing them. I had to pay via paypal to the UK and they shipped from CA. If you want I can send you the sales guys contact info. They were a great buy direct and I think its because they are not making them anymore and selling the last of them. I paid under $350 shipped for them. I bought one to replace a damaged wheel but then it was such a good buy and I haggled a little that I just bought 3 more to have an exact set.

The UK site for USA sales. http://www.rimstock.co.uk/rimstockusa/homepage.php I probably still have an old email from them for direct contact info.

I had these for sale a few months ago but go not takers. So I mounted them.

R99s in silver are $218 each.

In charcoal they're $226

In polished $329 (but Morristown Mini has them for $275)

I'd say it's worth getting the real thing. As OE wheels go they are quite affordable.

Do they come in black? The sales contact would be awesome. What's the price on a set of these anyways?

They have them in black. They had a set when I was looking. Just email the guy that I will PM you and let him know you are looking for 4x100 (they drill to order) and see what offset they have. Probably +38 for this wheel.

I need a refreshment on what a Offset is.

BTW that link you gave me doesn't seem to lead anywhere.

the lower the +offset the further the wheel will stick out. To far and it will rub on the fenders under load and over bumps. I think 37 or 38 is about the limit for mini tire sizes.

Check Outmotoring. That's where I got my TD's. Aaron's the shizzle.

I checked outmotoring. They don't have the R99 or the Motorsport. I googled for an hour trying to find a legit place to buy from. All I found was these fraud looking websites that look like they scanned a magazine page and stuck it there. Their e-mail address to order from was through Hotmail. Thanks KHD for the info. I actually found your ad for your wheels back in October through google, had my hopes up but when I saw it was you, my hopes dropped.

Anyone else know where to pick up these rare Team Dynamics Motorsport Wheels?

Anyone heard of this palce?

Andy from rimstock (that email I sent you in the PM) hooked me up. From what I gathered rimstock is the UK distributor (where TD wheels are made I assume). I sent the paypal to him and then the USA distributor of Team Dynamics shipped out the wheels.

I was very concerned just because I searched and found him but it all worked out.

I am not sure where you are located but I would consider still selling my wheels and tires. Not because I am not happy with them just because that was my original plan. They are obviously however not brand new like they were 2 months ago.

I however still like the R99's a ton and if I could afford them would go that route.

KHD how much did you pay for the wheels and shipping? I want to know if it's in my price range before I jump the gun.

I bought the first one (to replace my damaged one) for $110 shipped. I then decided instead of refinishing my other wheels to fix a blemish it would be cheaper to haggle a little on price for the 3 remaining. So the other three were $225 shipped.

So total was $335 shipped which I considered a very good deal. I think it was such a good deal because they are getting rid of last inventory.

Hmmm... I would get a price quote from Rimstock, and then call up Outmotoring and talk to Aaron to see if he can get them. If so, compare prices.

Good God!

I paid almost $200/wheel shipped! Apparently I really need to talk to this guy!

KHD: What kind of blemish did you have on the rim? One of mine had a paint peeling issue, and I've been thinking of replacing it, instead of trying to touch it up.

Tell me about it... that is the reason why I was worried about it but it was completely legit. It has to have been because it was some few remaining sets. He said he had a silver set (the set I bought) and then a black set. The only draw back is they don't make the Motorsport wheel any more so replacing any more damaged wheels could be difficult unless they still have more sets on the shelf.

It was more than a blemish! The entire wheel fell off! Discount tire screwed up on the torque specs and it came off. The lug holes were damaged. Now I have 3 spare wheels that I have since completely stripped down to the metal in hopes of a powdercoat project for spare rims to match these. No paint pealing issues here (finges crossed)

Oh man 335$ Shipped, that is such an amazing price...but I'm a bit concerned that they don't make them anymore...I need luck in finding them first, and then more luck to get a price like that.

Wow, that is a good deal. $800 for the OEM R99's. 6 months from now or last year I would have bought these for sure.
