6 spoke, IIRC... 15x6.5", +38 offset. MSRP should be right around $250 a wheel. We wish they were 15x7's, but those are coming sometime in 2009. FWIW, you can run a 225/50R15 or 225/45R15 on a 15x6.5 with no issues - we do it all the time.

The supplier printed out the BDM template and said it "cleared by at least 3mm at the closest point". Still, we want to hard mount one to make sure, so this'll happen next month!

 

Ok, I made a post and then looked back to page 1 and notice that TSW disclosed their 12.2 x 1.25" kit. This is the kit that I have opted to get. The 11.75 should do the job, and the DT 12.8 should also. But the 12.8 is overkill if 11.75 can handle it and it is more weight up front. Under a 17" wheel though, the 11.75 isn't quite as aesthetically pleasing as a bigger rotor. The 12.2 should be marginally heavier (~1lb) but look better, yet it is still lighter the DT kit.

Sort of right in-between and IMO perfect for us on 17" wheels. I'll post more once I have the kit, which will be a little while due to me buying some more xmas presents. But using the template it fits behind my OEM R99 ET48 wheels with almost 1/2" everywhere.

 

What's the weight of these wheels going to be?

3.7 kg (~8.1 lbs) for the 15x6.5's...

According to the supplier, the 17x7's are coming in Jan-Feb, and I believe they're right at ~11 lbs.

Does anyone know if the BDM brake kit will fit inside the 15x7 Enkei RPF-01s?

Also, if you had a choice of 35mm or 41mm offsets on a 15x7... which direction would you head to?

 

I'd print the template and check... If it were me, I'd go for the +41 offset with the BDM, since the BDM hats provide another +5 (meaning you'd end up with an effective +36 in the front, which is just about perfect for running a 225).

 

i thought you can't run 225's with out a little :cough::trimming::cough: or maybe that is only an issue if you're lowered? I'm running 17" TD pro race 1.2's w/ +35 bs

Needless to say, the Enkei RFP01s won't clear the BDM brake kit.
I especially loved their comments though about "not thinking any 15" wheel" would clear!

 

Anyone know if Kosei K1 TS (15 inch, +38) would clear the BDM?

Also, would 75mm studs (I have the Turner Studs) be long enough for the BDM? Also, if the BDM is bumping everything out up front, are you guys running a spacer on the the back wheels to keep the tire footprint symmetrical with the front wheels?

 

I would hope the 75mm turner studs would be long enough - they stick out far enough on the stock hubs! I have them too...

TSW's own 65mm studs work so yes the 75's will.

Update on the uber-light forged 15's is that they won't arrive now until January... they woefully underestimated the time it takes to finish machine them in the CNC (4-5 hours PER wheel). Oh well, I'll wait! SOME 15's do clear (e.g. TD Pro Race 1's and 1.2's with a +38), and these new forged offerings are supposed to as well (although we'll have a hard fitment test soon enough to confirm).

If the forthcoming forged 15's do work, it'd be a killer setup with 225/50 or 225/45 Nitto NT-01's. Dr. Mike prefers the 225/45R15's, though.

As far as the 'spacer' effect goes in the front - no, you don't need to run spacers in the rear. The hats do effectively add +5 to the backspacing (e.g. I run +37 OZ Ultraleggeras, so I have an effective backspacing of +32 - still, 225/45R16's work with a bit of trimming and all that sexy negative camber!). The front track width is about 0.3" shy of the rear, IIRC - so let's just say you're even-ing things up...

We did test a K1 knockoff that cleared - but, it would be best to print the template and double-check.

 

Twist that knife you plunge into my heart will ya...I'm dying to check out these wheels. The TD's need to go go go....

For you guys running the BDM, are you using brake ducts too? Nate, I know you have the Way ducts, but I'm wondering if anyone else is going with the BDM ductless...I'm kind of at a crossroads. I'm going to hold on to my MINI 2 more years for sure, then after that either get 370 Z, depending on what Nismo does with it, or wait a little longer and get the next generation MINI if I can't bear to be MINI-less, depending on what happens with the next generation. The MINI I have now is loaded; if I knew I was going to get addicted to this track stuff my spec would be a lot different, but I'm going to try and keep this car as close to stock as possible, so I'm going to try and avoid duct for the present.

 

One of the local guys to me who is quicker than I am, he has less power, more skill, is using the BDM ductless. We did a temperature test one session we both ran in and found we were hitting the same range. See the posts about Track Brakes. Sorry I don't have a link handy but we used a Genesis kit to test with so searching my name with Genesis as a keyword should narrow it down a lot.

 

Dr. Mike originally didn't have brake ducts, either, and had to issues with the BDM... Now, though, he's got a Home Depot brake duct setup. I run mine with Home Depot ducts, too. But Nathan's right - two local guys actually run the BDM with no ducting, and one runs the MDM with no ducting. No prollems!

Have you had a chance to test fit the new forged 15x6.5s yet over the BDM kit?

Buttonwillow, #14 CW last month showed me just how inadequate the stock brakes were, even with R4 pads front and back.



But hey, the parade car (convertible automatic) was turning 2:23s, everything stock, 'cept for a little extra oomph (which just meant more tire smoke out of turns 2 and 4).

 

Where can I get a link to the BDM template? If they clear the Kosei's, think I'll be ordering soon...
