Wilwood 12.2" on OEM wheels

Hello,

I't's time to change my pads and I saw the 12.2" kit of wilwood on TCE's webpage.
The price of this kit is very good for me but I will know if this kit fit on my OEM wheels...

I have a '07 Cooper S R56 with crown spoke wheels....

Someone try to fit 12.2" kit with OEM wheels to see if they're right or to see what spacer do they need???

Someone know where can I find a picture like this below of the OEM Brake???

This is of 12.2" Wilwood kit

I would think they wouldn't fit. Crown spokes don't have a lot of room.

Why don't you take your wheel off and use that nifty template?

I don't want to take off my wheels because the fits i will going to take cannot be so precise and I know that 0,1" is very important too!!

If someone has a picture like that I posted is perfect but I try to see on my car too!!

Please note that the 1.01" clearance spec includes about .100" of air gap (shown by dotted line) and in fact the needed clearance 'could' be a tad less. Down to about .070 or so.

You have the full size template right?

All you need to do is cut around the fat dotted line (to make sure you do give yourself enough clearance) and straight down the "face of the Wilwood hat" Cut around the hub on the picture so that you can stick that into your wheel to make sure the template is centered. Take the wheel off the car and fit your template into the wheel like the brake kit would sit if it were on the car. If you can swing the paper around the wheel without hitting anything, the brake kit will work.

If you don't have the full size template, just ask Todd at TCE to send you a PDF of the full size template, which you can print directly off your computer.

What's your first language by the way?

My first language is italian.....English is the last.... my teacher wasn't so good...and during the lessons I was like him --->

Also...if I understand, i must do a caliper of paper and then I must try to put it over the OEM caliper and then I try to fit the wheel on...

I will try in this days if I find some time...

I hope that with "cut and model" I'm better than write some english sentence...

No,no,no...you fit it into the wheel.

Or you can do it with two steel rulers in this manner:
http://www.tceperformanceproducts.com/wheel_fit.html
Whereas dimension "X" must not be less than 1 inch.

Now we can laugh enough...

with my bad english and my bad draw-capacity i try to explain what I do.

Like Todd said I try to take some number and the result is in the picture here below...

I'm not sure that the kit fit on my car perfect...but I think that is so...
Unfortunately the fits are not so precise...

All the fits are in mm...to have inch you must divide this number for 25,4...

I hope that the OEM Crown spoke doesn't need spacers but I'm not sure!!

Todd...a question...if I give you an adress of a friend that lives now in California, in how many times will the kit "plus 2" complete of all come in his hands??

How much cost the shipping to California??

If you prefer talk of this by e mail or PM tell me.

Thanks!!

Assuming the picture is close to scale, you will need about 5mm spacer I believe.

You do not reference 25.6mm of space at 162.6R from center. My guess is that you will have perhaps 22mm of spacer at this radius from your pencil sketch.

I think you should prepare to purchase spacers and related hardware. I can ship a kit to him in CA no problem. I have one on the shelf at this time. $20 will do it.

Ok thanks!!!

I will talk this to him...but i need to know exactly how much time will take for the ship...because my friends is in CA for a long holiday but maybe in september he come back...
You must tell me how much days take the ship from you to him, after you receive the money...so I see if the time to make all are correct..

Thanks a lot todd!!

From Phoenix to CA will be about 3 days. California is a rather larger state....exactly where in CA will have a huge impact.

Also I do not stock more than one kit at a time. If it's here when you order that is great, but if not you will see another 3-5 days minimum to me first. I suggest you finalize your plans no later than the end of August.
