OK, I 'm pretty good with engines, et al but and crap at tires. I want to put 215/45's on my panasports not only for looks but added stability and grip at speed and hard turning (autox). Here's the dilima... is the 215 width too wide for the rim? Most people have said the 205/50's are good but they are more of a standard driving tire.

I need advice.

I, and many others, run 215/40 16s on 6.5" rims. The 215s on a 7" should be fine. I have also seen 225s on a 6" rim.

I heard the 225s will rub the fender lip on a 40mm offset

The 225s were on a Miata.

We've been running 215/45-16 Falkens on 16x7.5 SSR Comps (42mm offset) with no problems (no rubbing).

Let me add my questions.. I've been drooling over a set of 16x7 Panasports and wrapping them in some...

wait for it....

COOPER Cobra GTH 225/50R16's.

However, I'm also concerned with tire rubbing. Any thoughts?
What is the offset on the panasport rims?
