Drag DR19 gun metal wheels for MCS

I recently saw some photos of the Drag DR19, 17" x 7.5", 40 offset, 4 x 100 wheels and thought they looked very cool.. Very similar to the BBS R90 at a fraction of the price ($110 ea). However, I'm not familiar with these wheels though I believe they're Japanese. A local Bay Area dealer has them but I'm wondering if any club members are familiar with them and can say whether they're manufactured well.. Obviously they're cast wheels, but just the same, they look very nice, polished lip and all..

Here's a link from one dealer, though I can get them for less:

Thanks

I wouldn't say they look similar to the R90

I have always like the DR19 wheels. FYI through www.discounttiredirect.com you can get free shipping and they are $105 a piece. Free shipping even with tires if you wanted.

Also everyonce in a while they have a $100 off if you buy 4 wheels and tires. I remember last year they had that deal.

Thanks guys. What I was hoping for was that someone here actually had them and could give some feedback about the quality, etc.. And yes, I know they're not identical to the R90s, but they DO have a similar look..When I checked Discount Tire in my area, the site said these wheels weren't available here.. Am thinking of getting them with the Falken ZE912, 215x45x17's.

I have drag dr-20 wheels that I put on almost a month ago. So far, I love them, they look killer and I have no complaints. Plus since my wheels were $100 each, well if something happens to them, it's only a $100 and not $400. Check my gallery for some photos. More to come once it stops raining.

I like those wheels too. Does anyone have experience with how strong these wheels are, i.e. how they hold up to daily use?

Also, how much do they weigh in the 17 x 7 size?

Thanks

i run the DR21 on my FitSport which is my dd. the quality of the finish
is 'ok.' the painted portion is strong, doesnt chip like those pos ADR
wheels, but the polished part is like a film, not paint. it pits and also
kind of has this aluminum corrosion thing going on at the very tip of
the lips. it's not too bad though. you get wat you pay for.

Sounds about right to me. I have the Drag DR-12 on my MINI...one is bent pretty well because of the huge colonial, New England pot holes. I have similar problems as Ken as well with pitting. However, they survived a New England winter, and still look OK unless you are up close.

They recently seem to have done away with the free shipping . Although now the free pick up is worthwhile (and of course now I don't live in Columbus anymore). they do have a lowest shipped price guarantee, plus they always seem pretty accommodating when you call up. Not making you pay for hardware and valve stems usually. They offer free aluminum centering rings too. Just too bad that the free shipping is gone.
