ZE 912's?

I had a set of Falken ZE 512's. They were great tires... great handling and wear.

Apparently they have upgraded them to the 912's. Anyone have any experience with these?

My rims come in tomorrow and a set of 912's are sitting there waiting. Before I go in and get them mounted, I wanted to get opinions on these tires and verify the correct size for a set of 17x7 rims.

Am I suppose to be running 205's or 215's on a set of 17x7" rims?

I believe the stock 195/55-16's are 620mm's tall where the 205/45-17's are 616mm's tall....virtually identical.

I have them on some new rims I just put on last week. I can't say much about them yet except they are quieter and smoother than the Yoko 100's I had before them. I'm hoping the ZE 912's might last a little longer than the Yoko's.

I had the Yoko Avo's (or something like that...) They were good but didn't last for crap.

The 512's worked well... hopefully the new ones will work as well.

40F and above, they grip fairly well and wear is very good.
under 40F lol, cant believe they even call it all season tires. lol

takes a long time to break in... took 500miles for me on my dd.

the thing i like most is that the tire's sidewall washes off real
nicely and does not require any tire dressing.

I have had mine on for about 8K miles. Have run them in all weather including cold snow in the mountains under 30 degrees.

No problems, like the tire, sound and grip. Even on the track for a couple medium speed circuits, they felt great. I run my pressure at 37/36 all the time.

I'm running 205/50/16x7.

I've been running 205/40/17 ZE 912's for about 1,500 miles now. So far so good. No complaints, good grip and good price.

I'm embarassed. I did type 912 in the search and didn't see any specific threads about it.

I just did it again and sure as heck, the same thread you found was about 8th one down.

My apologies. I always do a search first....

Don't be embarrassed - it's not like the search function works all that well. As I am interested in the 912's myself, I am happy to see more recent responses to questions like yours.

I have had them for about 2K and they are good, not great but a very good value. I don't track the car so the 912's are just the ticket for me with a little winter and a lot of rain.

I'm sure there are better tires out there... I've used these (512's) in the past and they were great tires. For me, the 912's (assuming they are the same if not better than 512's) will work great for what I'm doing.

i am running 912's on my honda s2000 in 205/55/16's and 245/50/16 in the rear for my DD rims. They offer less grip than the tires i had on before (S02's), but are quieter. They were also 60 dollars each from discount tire with a rebate a few months ago, which was the deciding factor in the purchase. You might want to try others if they are similar prices though!

I've got about 1,000 miles on mine now including a couple of 3 hour rides and some pouring rain. I am very pleased with the 912. They are dead quiet, don't hydroplane and handle great.

I doubt they are the last word in performance, but for what they cost they have far exceeded my expectations.

You hit that on the head. These tires are dirt cheap. They were under 70 bucks a piece. For what they are and how much they were, they're great.
