I think that if you see the JCW 18" rims on the car in person they might be OK.
I mentioned the SSR rims before- here they are in 17" on DakineMINI's baby.

Based on other wheels with similar designs I would guess 18-20 pounds per rim
see https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...pic=2136&0
I'd estimate the 205/40-18 tires to be about 21 pounds
see https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...pic=3519&0
So about 40 pounds per corner or more. Much better than the S-lites with runflats at 48 pounds each.
Still no word on the price for these wheels- I'd guess $2700 a set. Maybe more.

It's amazing what a slight design difference can make. The JCW wheels have soft lines that don't look good. The design is incredibly anycar/boring. They are the kind of wheels I would have to get free with the car and then strive to get rid of ASAP. The SSR's look kind of cool--at least worth having.

The JCW rims and racing seats will soon be avaliable at BMW dealers in the coming August. I actually sent a message to the John Cooper Works Team regarding the price quote of the racing seats and the rims. However, they only give me their release date and just say price will be specify later

I actually like those rims. can anyone do some photoshop magic and put them on a both front and rear of a cooper. It is hard to tell what they would look like seeing 1/4 of the car.
