Kyowa Racing - Anyone heard of them?
So I was looking at the lastest Euro Tuner magazine that I got in the mail today and I came across an advertisement for Kyowa Wheels. They had a picture of some mesh wheels called Evolve (or KR628). Anyone heard of this brand? Any comments? Wheels look pretty tight although I'm not feeling the 4x100/4x114.3 being drilled together but for inexpensive wheels, can't win 'em all...

P.S: Look for my car, as well as my brother's, in the reader's rides section. Hopefully I win, although I highly doubt it...

Could be. Although I've never seen anything in a 4x100 or 18x8 like this specific style. There's no doubt they're cheap wheels, but I wonder how they look in person...
I think kyowa is one of those cheap brands.....although i may be confusing it with a similiar name......i just know that i've seen an ebay type brand that is "kyo"_____.
I dig the look though....but have never liked multi lug fitments
Did eurotuner cover h2o in this months mag?

The November issue has Dubwars, Socal Euro, and Waterwagens. Next issue I would guess.
I have the KR228 in 17x7. On the lighter side (~17.5 lbs) compared to S-lites. I like the look of mine. Only downsides so far are the multi bolt pattern and the 4x100 only fits the M12 size lug bolt. I had to then buy the M14-M12 conversion stems with lug nuts from TSW. Recently handled a 2 day track event just fine without any loose lug nuts.
I have also just noticed a little peeling of some kind of clear coat film in about 3 small spots during cleaning but is not noticeable when standing at the car.
Hope this helps. I did get a good price from wheel studio dot com.
Would I buy these again? Probably not because I would try a set of Team Dynamics next.

if the paint chips easily, then it's probably not by Ace wheels then (from the ones ive seen in person).

Stretched Tires - The look is RED HOT but should you run it?Popular with VIP and tuners, the Fast and Furious III has now brought drifiting and the stretched tire look to the attention of the nation, and we can help you get this look. Basically, you take the same size wheel that will fit your car and put a narrower tire on it than usual. Have a 225/40R18 tire and want the stretched look? Run a 205/40R18. You'll get the look you want, but there's a few things to consider. Your tire's overall diameter will be smaller, so it will look shorter and your speedometer will be off a bit. Also, now that the rim sticks out further than your tire, you really have to watch the curbs. Not bad if you never parallel park, but for you city dwellers it's something to consider. The good news? When the tires wear out (and the look is no longer popular) you can get the 225/40R18s again.

You can't deny that the 18s look GOOD. To be honest I've really been wanting a set of RPF1's, yes in 17s, but that means I'll need coilovers and I'm not ready to spend that kind of money just yet. Thanks for the link.

Dropping the overall diameter by a full inch is barely noticable until you get to 60mph.....and no stretch would ever change the overall diameter that much

Also....stretched tire started in the lowrider scene.....FAR before Fast and Furious 1 came out.

but the look is still big in the euro scene, the JDM scene, the VIP scene, the K-car scene, the DUB SUV scene, and in the lowrider scene. Yah, some people don't like it.....and that's fine......but it's still pretty popular in all sorts of car groups and it's showing no signs of going away. In germany, the tire companies have even caught on.......in some of the big manufacturer shows....the tire companies are starting to showcase their tires STRETCHED on lowered rides.
