225 no problem. I run 235's on my 09 JCW. The Falken Azenis RT-615 have been REALLY good for me. Great price, ultra sticky and look very kool. I have them on several cars.

Do you have any rubbing running 235s? What's your suspension setup? I'm thinking i want to go conservatively at first with the 225s. Do you have to run some more negative camber to avoid rubbing? Picking tires is rough. You run those 615 tires on the street!? Thanks Adam!

I have H&R coilovers lowered about 2" all around.

more photos: CLICK HERE

No special alignment specs either. I had to make two minor dremel grinds on the front fender arch toward the front to clear the tires. Nothing else other than that.

Yup run em on the street and they work great!

Hope that helps!

Helps alot...

So Lowered aprox. 2" with standard alignment specs.
  • The tires are 235/?/17
  • What are the wheel specs?
And while I have your attention what tires would you recommend for a daily driver in the same size as yours?

Thanks

235/40/17
Konig Feathers 17x7 with 5mm spacers front and rear. Effective 38mm offset.

I honestly don't drive that MINI every day. But I have employees that use those same tires on their daily's and they work very well in wet and dry situations.

Falken also makes other 235/40/17 a FK452 Performance All Season and Azeniz ST-115 Performance. If the RT-615 is too aggressive for you (they have little treadwear) the ST-115 is the next best choice. Well priced too!

This has been an extremely helpful thread and there are some great looking Mini's and wheels in here.
I can finally add mine - Enkei SC03 rims (17x7) and Falken Ziex 912 tires (215/45/17)

Looks sick Adam. So in your case, do you think you could support a 45mm sidewall? or would clearance be better using the 40? and also, you have 235s on a 7in wide Konig feather? wow i was sweating the fitment of a 235 on a 7.5. Does Falken measure width from the side wall or contact patch? Thanks adam, you've been most helpful.

I have to agree with the group! 45 series is going to rub and be a bit balloon like. Shoot to find the 40's that you need!

Let me know if I can help further!

I just got those tires in 235/40/17. I have not had a time to push them. How are the tires. I got them so cheap that i did not even think of the performance part of it. The car looks great.
