i dunno if I'd call them "enthusiasts" though... more of just, i dunno, mini lovers? an enthusiast will know wheel types, and what is rare and what is a replica... there's quite a business in reps right now, look at rota, that's all their whole business is.

personally, I can't afford bbs's right now. maybe some day, but not right now. I'd rather go with a set of HRE's (or a set of less known, high end wheels like maybe kinesis) if I'm gonna drop real money on wheels... Till then, I'll stick with mid-range, non-knockoff wheels.

Has anybody powder coated S-Lites a charcol grey on a black Mini? I'd like to see what it's going to look like before I try it.

The powder coated S-lites are few dozen pages back, I'm sure!

I lucked into the BBS RK's I posted a while ago, but the "real" find was a vintage set of DP 5-spokers - with a lip, even! Unfortunately (kinda), they ended up on my wife's cabrio!

Hey - how about Cragar SS replicas?
(edit: I really need to dust my office...)

I've been wanting to post in this thread for a long time. I got these wheels a couple of months ago, but just had warm enough weather to wash the car.

Purchased a week ago Friday. 2009 MCS. So far I've got 450 miles on Koda.

Put new wheels on yesterday (Konig Feathers with Bridgestone RE960s in 215/45R-17) and then installed H&R springs today.

Sorry... he's tucked away in the garage. Will take more pics when it's daylight if anyone is interested.

Cheers!

Color coded headlight rings would look much better. Not sure why so many people feel the need to paint everything black. Looks great as is!

Well there's the gas cap, handles, taillights and sidevents that are still most likely chrome.

I'm just saying that color coding is another option to spraying everything black.

Hey guys, I am OK with a touch of chrome... now Gold, on the other hand...

I'm with you on this one Anthony. I will probably be doing the headlight rings, gas cap, and tail-light trim in Chili Red (I want to minimize them, not draw attention to them).

Side skuttle will probably be black jack (undecided at this time).
Belt line is getting blacked out.

I'm OK with chrome door handles.... for now. Things change day to day though.

I'll grab some more pics and throw them up here for those that asked. Thanks!

Sounds good! People will notice your wheels and not your accent trim!

Only had time to run out and take a quick one (in the garage still). But you get the idea. Lots of photos coming in a day or two.

Professor - those rims look sweet. Are they silver or graphite? Can't tell in the pic. Where'd you get them from?

Now I know what they would have looked like on my car. Good to know. The wheels look fantastic. I'm regretting my sale of these wheels now. I love the Exel TZ-10 so much. Those are hyper dark, right?

Thanks!

Using the thing on the tirerack website, bronze wheels seem to look really good with a lot of body colors IMHO Chilie Red, Pepper White, Jet Black etc... not so much silver though
