Judging by your experience with the millions of sets of wheels you've owned - how do you deal with rubbing (especially at the rear) - i'm getting it at the moment (et38, 17x7, eibachs, 205/45/17 toyos) - and was contemplating hitting the back with a dremel....but would love to know if there's another solution...

hmmm, not sure, cause my last BBS RZ's were 17x7 et 37 and I had 205/45/17 kumho spt's on them and didn't rub at all in the rear... of course each brand tire fits different so it could be that. (my rear camber is also pretty negative)

The new wheels are getting 205/40/17 and they are 7.5" wide, so like rally posted, the tires will have some stretch to them, not as much as the picture he posted, but enough to help with rubbing issues.

I'm sure I'll post new pics when they're mounted

Just a guess here, but that doesnt look like it will hold up to cornering well. Not to menchin it looks bad.

The look isn't for everyone, and thats fine... it's personal taste.

I absolutely hate beefy tires, especially when it bubbles over the rim lip.

The function of stretched tires is better than you think, it's less sidewall to roll in hard cornering. (The picture above is pretty extreme, and is more for style though, that and overseas legal issues)

Can't say I'm a fan of the over-stretched look, the good folks on this Forum may not have been exposed to this fad quite yet.

Konky, I haven't seen anything you've done that's tacky yet, and am looking forward to your next iteration of wheels... those do look sweet. Did you ever sell the Porsche phone-dials and adaptors? Those had to be heavy as anything, but are definitely in my top 5 for "looks great on a Mini".

I'll try post a better close up ASAP ( lots of snow right now so wheels are pretty mucky):
Bump for good taste (I like your style, plus yours looks better than mine w/ coded arches and lowering)

As soon as I get a color-matched chip of the gold, mine may be seen in the Marketplace

Thanks! I appreciate it! Things that are different from the norm tend to be dissliked, where as I'm the opposite I like being different and I thought that was what the Mini it's self is all about. Are we the only two with this look? That was another of my motives for changing my Superlegerra's.... too popular. I suppose the Super's and Utlra's and all the look a likes are great for sunny climates where they don't have to be cleaned so much, but we get a lot of rain and I was getting really fed up of cleaning all those spokes.

The wheels are still for sale, but I sold the adapters to a Volkswagen guy.

...and they were heavy as hell!

Konky... what wheels did you have on your ride in this photo?
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...37/january.jpg

Do you have any other pics of them sitting on your HD to share.
I'm doing a little research before my wheel purchase, thanks/

well, it's 18F here and these are getting summer tires, so it's gonna be a bit before I get to use them. I'm trying to nail down tire choice now.

I think there is one other that has the silver GTcs. Its been probably a year ago since. I don't know of any more with the GTc style rim (authentic or not).
