Met a guy last night at the Italian Job premier who was running run flats on konig rims. I thought that run flats had to be installed on special (rims designed for run flats) rims.

So what's the story? Would a light aftermarket wheel have any problems with run flats or does it vary wheel by wheel?

TIA, Jeff

ps: The Movie, and seeing a parking lot full of MINIs/Minis, rocked!

Its been sugested that the saftey humps on wheels designed for use with runflats may be larger. This would help in bead retention in zero pressure conditions. All wheels these days have saftey humps of 1 sort or another.

So, is this a definitive yes..........if I wanted to use runflat tires on aftermarket (non-OEM) rims I would be OK........just don't question my sanity for wanting to do so

Yes you can use the run-flats on aftermarket wheels. Just make sure the place you go can handle the installation.
