I believe those are actually R56 checkered mats... They fit R53 but the logo is the later generation version.

I wish the seller good luck, but I think I would find that pattern somewhat distracting on the track.

I can’t go that high on the asking $, but that part # seems to come back to a R50/52/53 part.

Part number says r50 and they fit perfectly so I always assumed they were for first gen.

JCW emblem

Your part number is correct for 1st gen MINIs but the JCW emblem is a later version 2009+. The change of logos did not correspond to the change of generations. And some R53 mats made in later years (2009+) use the new logo but are shaped for R53. Odd but true.
So your front mats will fit a first generation MINI but the JCW emblem is not period correct for the purist!

GLWS

As a suggestion, might list the part number in your description.

Interesting. I’ve never seen a pair of fronts without logos on them, only rears. Are you saying that the logo itself is different or that it shouldn’t be there at all?

There were two JCW logos: the early logo first introduced for Gen 1 (left) and the changed/updated logo that came out later (2009?). You have the updated logo on your mats, which means they were produced later.

All of the mats came with one of the logos, depending on production date.

this is a Gen2 mat, with a Gen1 badge (logo). There was a crossover from 1to 2, but i’ve never seen a cossover from 2 to 1. also all Gen1 mats i’ve come across had a circular heel pad, whereas the Gen2 switched to a larger rectangular pad (as pictured). Gen1 logo is lower case, Gen2 all caps. Very strange set you have there. But the part# is correct for Gen1, and if you’re confirming it’s an exact fit, then that’s all that matters.

another way you can tell they’re Gen1 mats is the angle highlighted in red. Gen2 was more squared off.

this is the fitment of a Gen2 mat in a Gen1 car. Notice the gap between the mat and the dead pedal.

Not all Gen 1 logo mats have the round heel pad. There are also Gen 1 mats with the original Gen 1 logo and the wide heel pad. I own a set of them.

Have we thoroughly confused everyone now?

Definitely pretty confused myself. I'm thinking maybe they originally came out of a late r52 or were made as replacements available through the dealer parts department. My car was a 2003 model that the previous owner bought when they couldn't find a JCW in the specs he wanted, but then added everything a JCW could have had. That was around 2010ish maybe so that would line up well with the date code I found from peeling the stitching back a little more. I'm not confused on currency though. $100 is robbery for these. $500 is OBO but I've seen sets go for not far from that on here. The only other pairs I know of are on Ebay for around $300 but across the pond and in worse condition, and r56 fit.
