DISAPPOINTMENT with IRELAND ENGINEERING!

* CALLED THEM AND GOT THE SITUATION UNDERSTOOD(STILL $50 THO), GREAT AFTERSALE SERVICE !*

i ordered some fixed camber plate directly from their site around thursday last week. it took almost a week to process without letting me know how much for shipping or what kind of shipping method will be used. and this morning i recieve a email saying it will be shipped via "best method" and it's been shipped this morning without my confirmation for a shipping fee of $50, is it just me, or thats TOTALLY OUTRAGEOUS AND NON SENSE?

i have to share with you guys my shopping experience with them!

that surprises me. I ordered street adjustables from them, took about 3 weeks to ship (along with my adjustable control arms that needed to be manufactured...hence the delayed shipping), but shipping was really inexpensive. They came UPS ground. Did they really charge you $50 for shipping? I wonder if they entered it wrong and it was supposed to be $5. Give them a call, see if you can straighten it out with them first. I am assuming from your note that you have not contacted them as of yet.

Ordered it last thursday, today is wednesday. Friday,Mon,Tues,Wed 4 working days. I don't think that's terribly outrageous.

Is it getting mailed to Canada? Did you check their policy for shipping out of country? Does that include customs duties?

I don't think the time is bad. I would call them and ask for an explanation of shipping and give them a chance to explain.

I would call and ask to speak with Sandy or Jeff personally - they're a great group of people.

When I told Jeff that my poly bushings in the rear control arms wore out, he was surprised by how fast. He was getting an order together, but I bugged him a little. I asked if I was being a PITA? He said, "a little." When I told him I could no longer drive the car, the rod ends came two days later - Shipping was on him!

He has been very responsive to all my needs! No one is perfect, there are always screw ups and surprises. give'm a call and I'm sure the is a reasonable explaination.

LOL...I did not even notice where he was from...I bet that has a lot to do with shipping costs, etc.

So, your order is shipped out within 4 business days, but you find it necessary to make a public blanket statement of disappointment with IE.
Why would you not pick up the phone and give them a call. At least contact the supplier first, to give them the opportunity to resolve any issues.
Further, concerning the shipping it would be my guess that its due to ridiculous brokerage fees from UPS.

yup, thats why all my stuff gets sent to a us po box, 5 bucks a package. Better than 100 plus brokerage, then tax when it arrives. My paranted spend their weeks in the states, home on weekend they pick it up for me when they come back, so i dont even have to pay the tax because theyve been gone so long. I cheat, i know, thought i would rub it in, sorry. 50 comming to canada isnt bad for shipping alone. You will probably pay tax on that when it arrives as well. Hopefully by best they shipped by us mail, Its way cheaper and no brokerage fees, tax will still be collected tho, unfortunatly. 4 days is pretty good tho, helix told me the end of the week when i ordered on monday, i dont mind tho, even if they didnt tell me, a couple of days could be postal handeling (i do alot of mailing, and mailing to one customer takes 2 days, but them mailing me takes a week and a half, just an envelop, std mail, nothing fancy, but big time difference). FWIW

acutally the amount of time it takes for them to process the order i can accept. but aren't they suppose to confirm with you what kinda shipping they will use at least? like i'm just disappointed the lack of communication at the "point of purchase".

besides, the package is send within US, so $50 is still outrageous..haha

for sure i will give them a call, since i email them, and still have not hear a reply from them.

Take a little responsibility here and stop laying blame around as is so common these days. You knew for a fact that you were getting something shipped from another country. It obviously states on the website...again, accept some responsibility for your actions...that there is an additional charge for international shipping and they even state why.

" Ireland Engineering Shipping Policy Shipping will be "best method". This usually will be UPS or DHL ground service in the continental US but sometimes it may be the post office. Freight estimates are not binding. Final freight charges will be determined at time of shipment. A handling charge is normally added to freight charges to help cover packaging. There is an additional handling fee for international shipments to cover additional paper work and transport to the Post Office. Large items are shipped by truck. On truck shipments any shipping damage must be reported to the driver upon receipt. Note: Truck shippments are much less expensive if addressed to a commercial adress. International orders are always shipped via the post office. No COD orders will be accepted. For international orders payment via wire transfer may be required. All prices are FOB our address. We can not guarrantee when packages will be delivered. This is the responsibility of the carrier. Customer assumes owership of goods upon shippment. Shipping damage must be reported to the carrier immediately upon delivery. We will assist in resolving shipping claims, but can not be responsible for lost or damaged goods. Ireland Engineering will not be responsible for any consequential costs or damages do to shipping delays or damaged/lost goods. Ireland Engineering will not be responsible for any claims or refunds of shipping costs due to delayed delivery by the carrier."

We order stuff from them all the time... We've had issues, but Ireland has always, ALWAYS made things right. That's why I don't hesitate to recommend them.
