Suspension could coilovers cause this problem?
could coilovers cause this problem?
we installed a set of megan coilovers with camber plates. i am not exactly sure what the plates are set to but, i get this vibration thru the gas pedal itself during acceleration during first and second gear in the lower rpms.
has anyone had this problem?
anyone have an idea of what it could be?
thanx!

you sure its thru the gas pedal?? Seeing from the pic you have an MCS which is Drive by Wire.. there can't be any feedback thru the pedal. But if your talking about a grabby feeling when taking off and you do have a LSD. then yeah do to no longer having Vibration Dampner built into the shocks you will feel it more in low gears.
Sure you could feel vibration through the pedal...if something up front was loose. We are going through the same problem at work (for example: This pilot said his feet were kicked off the rudder pedals which are digital...it turns out that the rudder actuator bushings are worn). Same difference
Did you check your rear alignment. I had the same feeling (i think) after installing my PSS9s and while I'm still messing around with them. I found that by raising the ride height in the rear eliminated the fluttery vibration I was feeling when accelerating in First and Second. I wasn't actually working to try and get ride of it at the time as i was playing with handling issues. I'm not sure if this was due to the camber becoming less negative in the rear or some variant overall ride height when the rear was raised.
There has also been quite a bit of discussion on this in the archives (search:vibration after lowering) on lowered cars which if I recall corrrectly some have attributed due to changes to the angle of the half shaft after a car was lowered which caused the bearing to wear in a different spot or something like that. I believe it went away for most people after a certain amount of time.
Hope this helps....

same problem here. varying ride heights in the rear does not affect it. it is only in 1st and 2nd under 4k rpm.

I notice a fluttering vibe when I'm at highway speeds and it's different than a wheel align vibe.
P.S. - My rear is slammed ALL the way down and the fronts will be too as soon as I can get ahold of a lower pro jack.
