taking the plunge on eibach coilovers

I'm interested in eibach's coilover Pro-street kit. searched, didn't find too much info on it. Anyone know anything? I know they're not compression or rebound adjustable, just height, is it a threated sleeve coil or what? Other info?

Just check out their web site and call tech. They'll tell you everything.

well, maybe if you torture them....i have asked eibach usa for info, including pictures, repeatedly by phone and email for 8 MONTHS. they keep saying "they're made in germany. that's all we know. we'll let you know when we find out."

because of this crappy service, i wouldn't buy them now; if they can't even supply information, what would support be like after the sale? about all i'd do is MAYBE try them if they were free.

saw tgese ib ebay for 670 shipped. though about taking the plunge as well, but when i thought about it, the advantages of the megan coilovers are so much better ( 32 way adjustable, ride height adjustable to stock, revalving warranty, camberplates/pillow mount) that i think it is worth the extra 200 bucks for them.

search ebay for mini coil over (two words) and you will find them. the seller appears to sell a lot of them

The ones on eBay were the 5702.710's, which were the previous generation Eibach Pro-Street coilovers... the current part # is 5702.711. I have no idea what the differences are?

You might search on MINI2 - it seems many more people over the pond have installed the Eibach Pro-Streets...

spring rates

I was looking into getting the Eibach coilovers a few weeks ago. They responded to me with the following info: non-adjustable twin tube damper by KW (to Eibach specification). The spring rates given to me were front: progressive, 25-55n/mm rear: linear, 30n/mm. I assumed the n stood for newton and came up with the following rates using an online coverter: front 142-314 lb/in. rear 171 lb/in. This sounds pretty low to me. Could the n stand for something else? Hope this helps
