Do I tighten the large bolt with the suspension loaded?

Yes. I have always read that the rule of thumb is; bushings are loaded and metal to metal is not. Good luck.

This thread has proved very helpful. I am about to go install my powerflex bushings in the rear. Nice to know I dont have to remove the carrier.

Should this be a sticky thread? Pretty good how-to!

Even though the pics don't seem to work.

I'm surprised this thread was never stickied. Lots of good info here although the links to TonyB's pics no longer work. I'm about to tackle the front and rear bushings on my '05 MCS and this thread plus this one should make it a bit easier.

Anyone know what type of grease 'should' be used on these bushing inserts - silicon-based, white lithium, moly? The RTAB kits don't come with any and the poly alongside the OEM rubber bushings can't possibly be quiet without some lubrication. Perhaps anti-sieze would be a better choice.

normal bushing motion with just hand force

if you apply just hand force to the wheel while it's jacked up, how much motion, if any, is normal for a stock te arm bushing?

thanks.

should be zero. But I'm not sure which way you are pushing.

Mine are still sitting on my bench. I managed to get the front PowerFlex bushings installed at local dealer-hosted DIY day, but haven't tackled the rears yet. I'd like to get them on before my first DE or AX event this season and if I do I'll try remember to document the installation.
