Best bang for buck - suspension mods..

Ideas needed - I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on the Helix adjustable rear sway bar.

That is the first step for sure......that is one of the big 4 bang/buck mods...... pulley, sway bar, CAI, exhaust.

I can't believe I waited as long as I did before getting my sway bar.

I have the RDR/Helix swaybar. Great investment, it really helps the car maintain a more neutral (less understeer) composure in the twisties.

And just to mix it up a bit more...

Front Camber Plates.
Rear adjustable lower control arms.
Rear bar

and if you really want to go for it... Some coil overs!

Me neither....

To expand a bit more... If the geometry is set up right, then you tune response with bars and shock settings. And the tuning should be less sever than if the geometry is set up wrong... At least in theory!

My Mustang has the best suspension I've ever driven on a Mustang. And the springs are soft, very soft for a car of it's type. And it's that way because the geometry modification with the Griggs system are much better than the stock stuff. So it's a softer ride than I used to have, and it corners much, much better than it used to, and it puts power down much better too.

Precisely my point above Matt; swaybars are typically used before other more important aspects of suspension tuning are solved. But springs and dampers ideally perform fundamental suspension duty while swaybars should be used as a fine tuning mechanism. Geometery is a function of spring and damping because these fundamentally determine ride and roll rates; what geometry works for a stiff set-up may not work well for a soft set-up and vise versa.

I get plenty of rotation with my set-up and the stock bar on road courses.
