Are you installing them yourself? I have an Eibach pro-kit for my car (not a Cooper) and there were no rubber tubes on them. Most people seem to be using H&R springs on this forum, you're the first person I've seen with the Eibachs.

The H&R's now have this too. It is to stop the sound of the dead coils rubbing together, Leave them on if you have not already removed it.

i am not installing them my self *no way!* and yes i have the eibach pro-kit. i do know that most mcs and mc owners are using the h&R. i did not take off the rubber tubings on the back coils. i will leave them on, if they are to protect, and help not to make noise. thanks for the help guyz!

Southernsun,

First, welcome to MINI Cooper Online. Like the rest of us, you will find a lot of valuable information and many great people here on MCO.

Please come back and give us some feedback once you have the springs on. There is a lot of info here about the HRs, but you may be the first with the Eibach. We'd all like to here your thoughts after you try them out. And some pics of the car with them on would be great too.

Again, welcome.

Cheers,

James

Call Scott in Tech Support at Eibach 949-752-6700. He'll probably tell you they're there to keep them from clicking over small bumps. They've had an issue with some of their kits as the springs are progressive and when loaded, the tops are very close together. The rubber should keep them from making noise.

I have recently put on a set of Eibach springs on my MC. The ride is much stiffer and less body roll. However, there has been some funny noise coming out from the rear whenever I drive fast crossing some bumpy road. My springs didn't come with those protective rubber tube as other mentioned in the forum. Would it be the reason for those funny noises?
