Suspension PSS9 Before and after pictures
PSS9 Before and after pictures
I finally got before and after pictures, the PSS9 are set to the highest setting per Bilstein's installation manual.
I now have the firmnest set to 9 and the ride is better than stock.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give this upgrade a 9.5 over stock, I found the easiest way to set the front, I leave the dust caps on and put a mark with a pen on the cap and found that turning the cap will also rotate the dial, I also found that removing the cap, will change the setting when you try to reinstall the cap, so if you want a sure setting for racing, I'd say don't put the caps back on till your done racing, otherwise chances are you'll move the dial when trying to put the cap back on.
If you're worried the dial might mot turn with the cap on, put a small dab of silicone inside the cap and you'll never have to remove it again, just write down your own lines and numbers outside the cap and you're done.

Wow... Guess I need to review some threads cuz I don't know what you're talking about. For all I know you are a girl, zrwon, and for all you know I am too. There is nothing at all wrong with that, and I wasn't saying there was. Girls rule!

Hey he is in Edmonton, maybe I can drive up there and take a ride in his convertible Mini!

I bought the convertible because I wanted a MINI to use as a daily driver and play with at the new race track they opened up around here, but the plan is to give it to my daughter when she's old enough to drive, so it has a double purpose.
I didn't know you were a Girl since I couldn't find anything that would lead me to think that you are, so I want to appologise for the misunderstanding and I have to admit I was not to impressed when I read that one.
I'm sorry, I did get carried away, it won't happen again, I've been on 4 different car Forums over the past 8 years and it was the first time, I had this happen.
I'm 44 years old and probably didn't need a MINI, I have enough toys to play with but I just thought the MINI was pretty cool and bought one on impulse and I have to say I love that little car.
zrwon,
Looks GREAT, glad that it all came together, and you spent a little more time getting things just right! Anytime you need any other help or info, just let me know. BTW your comments to XALfa... Classic

I get the 22lb comment:impatientBTW, nice work you did with you photo album, it's a very clever idea to post pictures of the Bilstein instruction, it makes life much easier when the need to explain the settings to someone who's thinking of buying the kit.
I wonder how many of them have been set outside of the recomended range, I always say mine are at the highest setting but the truth is, it's the highest setting if I take the time to measure and keep it within the dimensions provided but there is more thread left and could go much higher but then I would be outside the the manufacturer specs.
The front shows 210mm to 230mm and I have them at 230mm and there is not much thread left, but the rears they range from 175mm to 195mm and I have them at 195mm but there is about 1" of thread above where I stopped, so it could go way higher, so I wonder why they do that, you would think they should make threads only for the allowed usable range, that way nobody would be able mess it up.
I might try to set my own photo album like yours, right now all I have is my Envoy on Cardomain, but I like your page much better, I see you fixed the link, it was not going to your page for a while.

It would be very nice to see Cosworth making a head package for the 2007 twin cam MINI, I would jump on that one, right now I'm thinking about getting the M7 Stage 2 Cosworth package for my 05 just because I'm a fan of Cosoworth.
The only thing I never liked about the Vega was the low end power was anemic, unless you rev it to 3500 rpm and side step the clutch, it was painfull to take off but once rolling it was fun, the MINI doesn't have that problem, it takes off pretty good but I'd like a little more power.
