Best Price for HSport Rear Comp Bar?

Anyone know the best place and price for buying a Hsport Rear Comp Bar?

I live in Los Angeles - Looking for a local shop or online (free shipping / no tax would be nice)

Your post reminded me to get mine. I got mine from Webb Motorsports.

No tax, and shipping was 12 bucks.

buy it there and have it install. price is comparative to online prices. you can also buy and carry. If that's the only thing you are doing to your car, don't bother. I tried that after reading here that it does wonders for cornering. Not so....all it does make you feel like you are driving a truck with your stock suspension.
I followed the bar install with springs and lower control arms....it's good, but my tires are cheap......it did improve in riding comfort and cornering ability.

The H-Sport fits without any difficulties, which is more than I can say for the RSpeed, in my experience.

I found the best price at Helix. $221 and about $10 shipping. The fit is great and the bar is lighter and much thicker than stock. Just bring the how-to's with you and get a friend (or two) to help. You'll have to play around a little to get the bars out and in but it's not too bad. The hardest part is getting the rear subframe to line back up once the bar's in. I've heard that re attaching the lower strut bolt helps in this alignment (something I didn't know when I installed it).

What type of fitment issues did you have? I'm debating between the Rspeed and H-Sport myself.

Would the H-Sport comp bar be too stiff for mostly street use? How does it compare to the H sport bar or the Rspeed bar? I know what the site info says but wanted a real world opinion.

Also why did you go with the Rspeed bar? Especially if you could get the H sport at a discount?

I went with the RSpeed because of the way it's made, I've had no issues with fitment. The H-Sport is a fine product too — plus, it has zircs on the bushings!

When I bought my rear bar I didnt have the connection for the h-sport parts. I bought the r-speed because of the way its made like mentioned above.

Personally I dont think you should buy less than a comp bar. When I say comp bar I am refering to any bar 22mm or acting as 22mm. I just don think the difference would be worth the $$ I really didnt notice any negative effects when I added the bar, all positive.

I use my H-Sport comp on the softest setting for street use. It dials out nearly all the understeer when turning with slight throttle. It still gives you some safety margin if you have to slow down when in a corner.

Thanks to all for their replies

I was of the same thought regarding the comp bar but wanted to hear from users. The notice on the web site of “for competition use only” made me wonder. I’m still debating between the Rspeed and Hsport. The Rspeed looks to be the most well made (solid forged chrome moly) but the Hsport has those grease fittings. Let me ask this how often does the bar need to be greased? Does the stock bar need greasing? I have never had to do this (the car is 1 ½ years old). If you need to grease the bar without the zirc fittings does this mean that you just need to loosen the bushings and squirt some grease under them? If so and the interval for greasing is not very often then I’m going with the Rspeed bar because of the construction and I’ve had great experiences working with the team at Rspeed in the past.

When I bought from Helix, Eric personally flew here (5000miles) to deliver it and installed it himself. How's that for service?

Like detlman, I don't think getting less than a 22mm bar is worth it. With 0 front camber and the Comp bar set at full stiff it still plows badly in very tight low speed stuff wet or dry. But in high speed sweepers it lets you easily steer the car with trailing throttle

It's the plastic bushings that need greasing. If you put plastic bushings onto the stock bar they would need greasing too. Stock rubber bushings flex and twist on the bar rather than slide, so no grease is needed.

O.K. so is there a lubrication interval or is it something you do when you hear squeaking? If so any ball park figure of how often this is for those with aftermarket bars? What I'm trying to figure out is if having a bar with the grease fittings is a big enough plus to sway (no pun intended) me towards the Hsport over the Rspeed bar?

I haven't had mine long enough to know how frequently it will need regreasing, but others have complained it starts squeaking after about a year.

And I have always thought that the higher performance BMWs in general tended to ride like trucks. That's how they get them to handle well.
