PSS9s vs. Ledas

Thinking coilovers, and I have searched the forum and didn't find any comparisons (maybe I just used the wrong keywords). Anybody tried both? How about our illustrious vendors, any opinions one way or another. Thanks in advance for any info.

Why coil-overs? Do you plan on tracking your Mini? If only part time, combination HSport spring and Koni Sport will do the trick for less

Thinking about it.

I would like to track it part time. I have the Konis and H-sports right now and to tell you the truth, they are very nice. Cornering is FLAT! A little harsh though on Southern California freeways and I was wondering if the coilovers might be able to do something about that harshness.

I had the Koni/H Sport set up and switched to PSS9s. I loved the ride of the PSS9s but was very used to the flat cornering of the K/HS. The PSS9s roll. I did every possible adjustment and could not get the flat cornering I was used to. I finally put in the front sway bar from H Sport ( already had the rear) and now I am VERY happy. The car is compliant on the bumps and very flat in the corners. The car is neutral to understeer which is just fine for me. I can adjust the very mild understeer out if I want to but this feels quite good to me.

So you would say that your car handles very similar (almost exactly?) like HSport/Koni with the PSS9s and the H Sport F/R sway bars? Is it just as "flat" when pushed hard and more compliant with small freeway irregularities? That is what I am looking for, I love the way my car handles right now (I also have F/R Hsport swaybars), it is just I would like a little more compliance with regard to small bumps and such. How about the Ledas do you have any information regarding them?

No, I do not. When I was " researching" this I spoke with Randy Webb ansd the impression that he gave me was that Ledas were very much like K/HS with the advantage of corner balancing (admitted oversimplification). I think if I were building a "track" car that I would go with the Ledas but I am very happy with the PSS9s. I can still make myself sick in the twisties of N GA. They are maybe not as flat as the K/HS but damn close and a whole lot more plush. Read my thread about this and there should be more detail on my "experience." The mechanic at the dealer commented as to how stiff the car was and yesterday pulling into the car wash the owner said I lifted the right rear wheel. He has a tricked out M3 and M5.

Since you already have the front sway bar I think I would go with the PSS9s. If you get to Atlanta you can drive my car.

I switched from koni's to pss9's and I am extremly happy with the change. The car is awesome on the track and very drivable on the street. I keep them at 9 on th estreet and its pretty smooth! On the track I firm them up a bit and the car just sticks soo well ! I even have a factory spec alignment and it did very well on the track, I am going to have the alignment re-done this week to give the the - camber my car is begging for.

Would you guys with PSS9s comment about the ride/handling differences between these and the stock MSC spring/damper? I have an 05.

Thanks,

Michael

Thanks for the comments, I was originally thinking Ledas but after all this I may be leaning towards the PSS9s, they sound more like what I am looking for. Looks like some more investigating ahead
