I'll have to admit, I was harboring evil thoughts about my Ledas; but it sounds like a problem that can be fixed. I'll just have to leave my rig on stands for a few days.

That reminds me of a suggestion I meant to make to anyone doing a suspension upgrade: Keep your stock shocks. Then when and if you have to send the Ledas in, or repair some other company's equipment you will have something to use.

I had to borrow some, since I got rid of them. And to think of some of the other crapola I kept. Oh well.

Nearly, that thought crossed my mind... but I see it as more of a hassle to install and remove those (stockers), as compared to the wait; especially considering how fast Karl turns these around...

Maybe I can swing you a deal on mine .

Motoring, to clarify, you have gone 70,000 miles without sending-in at least one of your Ledas?

actually, you need to use the upper mounting plates from the stock units with the new ones, so you have to do some work to keep rollin'

jlm, yes, on the rears, the top bracket is needed, and the fronts also if one doesn't have plates... Good point.

Yes, I had the rears serviced at about 60K. The fronts are still fine. But, I don't think I am running the same strut body as the coilovers. I haven't looked at the coilovers to check.

pulled my rears; ugly, eh?

notice I have the bump stops in there; I assume that is correct? I also have not lowered my ride excessively as I prefer a full range of movement.

after lying on the floor for the photo, the nastier one dripped out a couple of tablespoons onto the white board. no other obvious signs of wiped out seals.

Karl reports that the seals for the gas-filled Ledas were hincky and are being replaced with a no-problem solution. Only my rears leaked and I'm getting them back tomorrow.

Hincky? That an east coast word? Just did a search on the web to get an idea...

Thanks for reporting back!
