Suspension Bilstein B14 adjustable coil over spring replacement - Any other options???
SuspensionSprings, struts, coilovers, sway-bars, camber plates, and all other modifications to suspension components for Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs.
have you tried lately just typing in the part number and see if anything comes up?
that would be the easiest ideal solution if a lucky find popped up!
a bummer that it seems to be a difficult endeavor to simply get the direct replacement part.
Yup.
I began my search last year Oct 2025 by typing in the part# for the rear springs: E4-FD1-Y025-B00. (The rear springs are what I am in desperate need of). I did get lucky (sort of), and found a complete set of matching B14 springs for a Mini Cooper (same exact setup as mine). The seller wanted $160 for the set + $160 shipping. I contacted the seller about shipping costs and shortly thereafter - they pulled the listing.
I contacted Bilstein directly to see if I could get the springs directly from them. They eventually emailed me back weeks later and pretty much wrote me to "go find a vendor". I was able to get some help from one of the vendors here who were able to communicate with the Bilstein supplier and order the springs for me. Unfortunately they've been on backorder or NA for the last 3 months.
I went through and contacted the vendor who I'd originally purchased the B14s from, under their "lifetime" warranty, but due to their lifetime policy - frankly, I really can't afford to drop another (current retail price) $1,300 on another complete set of coil overs. Bilstein or otherwise.
Having these Bilstein springs collapse/sagged in just 2wo years and not being able to get replacement parts (without buying a complete new set) has left me a bit soured with the brand.

Reason: Part# Rear # E4-FD1-Y025-B00
I was so busy whining writing my previous post - I'd missed this one you just posted.
After writing my last reply I ran a search for the rears: E4-FD1-Y025-B00 and wouldn't you know BAM! - ebay!!!
I also saw a listing for the fronts from the same seller and pulled the trigger on both.
You know - I've been so downtrodden over the past four months over this whole ordeal - I'd just given into the fact that it was a fruitless endeavor and I'd just have to suck it up and buy a whole new set of struts. I just didn't bother searching anymore.
Thank you for your tenacity and dumping a virtual cold bucket of water on my head to wake me up and do another search after all these months.
A BIG Thanks to all those who offered insite, data, encouragement and tried to help me obtain the unobtainable : @ECSTuning @MCS4FUN @njaremka @Oldboy Speedwell
Thanks!
Funny - If I can recall as far back as 2017 the first time I updated my struts. Originally I switched to pre-built standard ride height TRQ on all fours. I absolutely loved them. A couple of years later I went with Bilstein B4s on my original factory springs. They felt just as nice as the TRQ's. About a year later, I decided I'd like a lowered stance/ride height and swapped the springs out from the B4s with lowering springs. That was a BIG mistake. The springs lasted about a year and had severely collapsed. Not to mention the hurting it put on those dampers! I started researching on NAM regarding lowering and suspension products. Being the performance parts "sheep" that I am - I was dead-set on Bilstein B8s with quality lowering springs. Back then, the B8s were impossible to find. A few months later; Koni FSD/yellows were all the buzz. I managed to get a pair for the fronts...but the rear were nearly impossible to find. So I gave up and traded the low milage Koni front struts for a pair of JCW leather sport seats from a cohort who had the Koni yellow rear struts on his Mini but needed matching fronts. I was back on B4s again before I learned about the B14 adjustable coil overs here on NAM.
As much as I love(d) my B14s - Given my firsthand experience, 2wo years from now I imagine I'll be in this very same position after riding on these struts for 5years.
Wasting four nail biting months waiting for Bilstein to ship out replacement springs for my B14's - Never happened.
Crazy as it seems to me; I was surprised to find and order these seemingly elusive springs, NEW on ebay ***(BIG THANKS goes out to @Oldboy Speedwell )***
After only a short week, I received the replacement springs this morning!
Just waiting on a couple of other small parts before install....
