WIDE & LOW: Custom BC Coilovers • 17x8.5" Wheels • 245/45-17 tires

Wheels went on in January, custom coilovers arrived just a little over a week ago. I got custom rate Swift springs for the coilovers, 8k f/ 9k r, and to compliment that I also installed the M7 25 RSB.

Wheel specs: 17x8.5" (17lb) wheels wrapped in 245/45-17 Firehawk Indy 500 tires.

In the past couple days I was able to get everything setup to how I finally wanted my suspension to look and feel. It was very low when the shop installed the coilovers, so yesterday I had the height set something more functional. Had to raise the front a little to compensate for the 3" exhaust. I'll need to get the exhaust tightened up in there, then I'll lower the car another .5 to 1 inch again.

Also fixed the extreme camber in the rear, it was set at -3.2 to compensate for the rubbing against the metal frame by the rear door. I had an awesome wheel shop cut it all off and weld it back together. No more rubbing there. I also trimmed the inside fenders, both the metal bracket and plastic. That opened up about 1" of space, which allowed me to set the rear camber at -2 degree with zero rubbing. Probably could go to -1.5, but I like the aggressive look. I also set the front camber to -2.2 degree. With the 25mm RSB the car feels it really balancing it all out.

Anyways, here's a pic with the new height and trimming, but before the new alignment. I'll take some better ones during the day and once the rain stops.

Updated pic with the new camber/toe settings. There's a slight difference in height on the front and rear, probably not really noticeable. Rear end is about 0.25 inches higher and the front end is about 0.25 inches lower than before.

Here's what I had to cut. The inside rear fenders (pictured here) and inside metal frame (not pictured), forward of the rear wheels. Once all that was trimmed... there is now zero rubbing even when I push the car hard with the 25mm RSB.

Wide fenders arrived. That'll be installed soon and should give the stance a nice aggressive look.

If I can find someone interested, I may sell my BC Racing coilovers. I want to run softer springs, with all the weight reduction (300 lbs) the standard setup is a bit too stiff.
