Suspension Risk of Lowering My Mini
Risk of Lowering My Mini
So I have been hearing that if I lower my mini around 2 inches, which I plan on doing to get a nice fit/camber look, that I will experience axle problems. Can someone give me some more info on this, as well as the costs associated with this, as well as how easy or hard it is getting on the new axles.
There are several threads on this subject but there has been no action on them in over a year. Mostly they say that you may experience a vibration problem (some people didn't) and it might be fix by replacing the half shafts. Do a Google search; you should find them. Penske parts is a good place to look for prices.
Most remanufactured axles are garbage, but inexpensive. OEM MINI axles are $600. You'll also most likely have funky tire wear unless camber and toe is corrected. Correcting camber will require additional parts; not just cheap coilovers.
