Strut brace install question

I bought a Bavauto upper strut brace from classifieds here. The two upper mount studs on each side aren't long enough to safely attach the brace. Any thoughts on how to remove the studs from the shock mount and replace with a bolt?

Did you take the two nuts off the shock tower first?

Yeah, took the nuts off but there doesn't appear to be enough remaining threads to safely put the brace and the nut back on.

It looks like your strut brace mount is thicker than most i've seen (mine included). as long as you can torque it down enough i wouldn't worry about it. If you can't tighten it I would just grind down the top of the strut mount holes on the brace. The bolts on the strut mount are pressed into the mount which could be removed but finding longer ones may be a problem. not to mention you would have to remove the strut to do it.

Really don't want to grind on the car. Wonder what it would take to try on the brace mount itself?

Yeah thats what I meant. grind the brace down where the nuts would sit.

Well, did all the grinding and now it hits the hood. Sent email to bavauto to see what I need to do to make it fit. It looks like the battery box is in the way.

Anyone modded their battery cover to fit a strut bar? Was going to dremel it with a groove for the bar but worried about water getting into the battery/ecu.
