Thumbs up WMW Rear Sway Bar

Installed the WMW 22mm rear sway bar a few weeks ago, and I am extremely happy with it. The CM handles so much better. I already had the NM springs installed and the sway bar made a bigger difference than the springs in my opinion. Install was simple, and I would highly reccomend this to anyone looking for better handling out of the CM.

What improvements did you notice?

When you really feel it is in a high (or spirited) speed turn of any arc. The understeer is simply gone. The car feels eager to rotate into turns and your confidence is vastly increased as a result of this. You really have to feel it to understand it.

Good to know. I was actually afraid it would actually decrease my confidence in the car because of the possibility for snap-oversteer where I spin out.

I push the car hard into corners and would hate to spin out from a sudden loss of traction.

Sway Bar and Springs

Just installed the WMW Sway Bar & V-Maxx Lowering Springs yesterday and love the ride, I do need to put the Rear Camber Links on back, but the ride is AWESOME! You can feel the difference right away.

Are you guys running the bar on the softest or stiffest of the two settings? I'm on the softer of the two right now. I notice a difference, but I'm thinking of bumping up to the stiffest setting.

Where it feels the best would depend on the other suspension components, wheels and tires used on that particular MINI.

Nothing wrong with starting out in the lowest setting and moving it up one notch at a time. If in colder climates where snow is prevelent, come October I'd recommend bringing it back to lowest setting will help you maneuver better on icy turns and off ramps ect.

I usually do this same time when putting on the winter wheels/tires.

Good advice, Gray. I'm on KW v3s, LCAs, and 8" wide wheels with 245 mm wide, sticky tires. I'm pretty low and wide ("that's what she said"). Unlike the R56 bars, these bars come with a two different settings. I might bump it up to the stiffer setting and see how I like it. Good advice on bumping it down during the winter months.

Hujan, I'm running the middle setting and I've had the back end kick out during some hot turns. I'm only on stock 17s with nm lowering springs though. For my tires and setup, I'd be a little nervous on stiffest setting b/c of snap over steer.

Damn, nice set up

Give it a go in tightest setting, got nothin to lose. I have full poly suspension F/R on JCW set up, Front Mini Madness underbracing with the Hotchkis 25.5mm hollow Competition bar. I can shift lanes in .05 seconds with minimal wheel input..and make 90 degree turns at 30 mph. When I drive up over street aprons into parking lots at an angle inside rear tire is always up off the ground....I get the greatest looks from folks driving on three wheels

Thanks, Gray! It means a lot coming from you.

I think I'm ready to give it a bump up to the stiffest setting. I'll report back with how it goes.

anyone having issues with rattling in the suspension after installing the a rear sway bar? When I'm on a left turn, and it leans on the right side, I get a bad rattle. I've checked all the linkages for tightness and added grease to the bushing. It's driving me nuts

I'd go through all the bolts and make sure everything is tight, we've installed so many of these with no issues.

This is my next mod, along with a front strut bar. However I'll get the RSB first either way.
