Suspension Replacing Control Arm Bushing
Replacing Control Arm Bushing
I'm looking to replace the front control arm bushings on my 2003 MINI. I have the OEM style with the brackets from the dealer. At this point I would like to replace only the ones towards the rear of the car and looking to do this with out removing the complete arm. Is this possable? I see the sub frame must be lowered for bolt clearance, what a mess any help out there? Thanks, AL.
Yes search control arm bushing replacement. But basicly you disconnect the steering rack from the column and remove all the subframe bolts then pry it down and remove them.
FYI this thread you have posted in the 2nd gen forum, your 03 is a 1st gen car a mod. may move this.

Separating The Lower Ball Joint
Separating The Lower Ball Joint at the steering knuckel, removed the to 13mm bolts and wouldn't separate. I'm looking into the press tool that separates the ball joint from the other end, any ideas? AL.

I did get the old worn out bushings off and the new ones on now need to finish the rest of the job. I admit I went about some of this backwards like not removing the sub-frame and installing the bushings on the control arms then installing the control arms on the car
