I just picked up a mint set for a fair price.
The tires are absolutely done (corded down to the steel ply on the insides; the seller had told me a bold faced lie that he corded them from all the autocrossing he does
), and are in a stupid size (205/40/17).
I would have gone with 8" wide wheels, but my options were pretty much all in the 20+ lb. range. These are around 16.8 lbs. In hindsight, I wish I'd had gone with a lower offset (I have maybe 5mm clearance between these stretched 205s and the strut body), but it's nothing a spacer can't fix.
I fitted a friends' 16x8 +38 Enkei RPF1s on 225/50/16 BFG KDWs and those seemed to clear. so here's hoping 225/45s will fit.
Not to save up for some Hankook R-S3s.

GramLights were made by Rays Engineering, so they're made by the same people. Ever since I was a kid, I'd loved how the 57Ss looked, but I could never afford them (working at a grocery store as a bag boy in high school didn't help either).
