What do you guys offer for camber plates?

 

I do not offer any at this time.

 

We have a couple options for camber plates, and we have plenty of coilovers too.

 

You don't play fair.

 

There are two different part numbers for the R56 depending if it is turbocharged or not. I assume it's for either weight differences, or maybe power (more aggressive/sporty for the turbo and more comfortable for the non-turbo)?

Part 90250 for 2007+ R56
Part 90608 for 2007+ R56 S, JCW

What is the difference? If it is the spring rate, how much? Is the damping the same? I'd really like to know!!

 

Same spring rate and lowering range. Good chance that the dampening is different. If the pictures are correct the mounting points look the exact same.

I checked my setup and I have the left and right installed correctly. BUT, I no longer notice any noises. I have about 6K miles on my setup now and I still LOVE it!

 

You haven't changed anything and it went away??

 

Well the moment I said that, I heard the noise again yesterday. It's weird though. It's not a clunk. It sounds almost like the brakes letting go hard, almost like a slight grind. It's very subtle. Again, I'm not saying it's the coilovers. I just never paid attention to it before I installed the coilovers. I only had the car for about 600 miles before the coilovers went on. I'll continue monitoring it and see if I have any problems.

I checked the coilovers, all the mount points, bushings and nothing seemed out of whack. There was no slack in anything (I was being rough with all the parts) and nothing moved around.

So, I'm not too concerned. I've driven them hard for about 7000 miles and no problems yet. I still love 'em and would do them all over again.

 

Can you find out? I can't find the info anywhere. The ST website doesn't even list 2nd Gen Minis!

Okay only thing I can notice by matching up the kits is the part numbers on the front springs are different. However both kits have a progressive front spring.

So the struts have the same part numbers?

 

Everything but the front springs is the same.

 

Any new information or fixes for the noises people have been getting?

 

Another member and I are running these with the Vorshlag camber plates and have significant rattling. Vorshlag has been very responsive, but despite trying their suggestions we can't get this rattling to go away permanently. The other member is using heavy axle grease in the area where the camber plate comes in contact with the shaft and has almost none to no rattling. So, heavy grease may be the only solution for this particular setup.

 

Here are the V1 instructions for install. I find that the KW instructions are much better than the ST.

I definitely noticed some strange noises after installing the ST's, only when turning on to into something like a driveway that is not flat at VERY low speeds, sounds like a rubbing or squeaking almost.

the ride is absolutely amazing compared to stock and i love the adjustable ride height! about to raise mine up for the snow for the coming winter here in NH.

 

Swaybar bushings squeaking, if you get adjustable endlinks and correct the pretension on the swaybar, it should go away. Kinda like a knocking sound almost but not exactly , a "strong thick squeak" if you will?




Also hard to believe kws instructions are better than st's as kw manufactures st's

 

i actually have the adjustable end links but after installing the ST's i was unsure of how low or high they should be in comparison. I was basically adjusting them to keep them off the control arm after lowering the vehicle, they definitely dont touch but is there another basis i should go by? car seems pretty normal and stiff when driving on the twisties so definitely no performance loss.

 

didnt opt for them so i havent adjusted any. im sure you would want similar preload to stock so you could measure the factory one then adjust the new one to have the same amount of distance from the sway to the mounting hole.

 

I'm having the same issue and the popping noise only shows up when I reverse with the wheels turned or moving forward while turning from a stand still. I've swapped out the sway links as well and it didn't do that job.

These coils definitely rides much harsher than the OEM sport suspension. Thinking about swapping them out for something that you can adjust the dampening. Any suggestions on a Shock and Spring combo that might give me a drop that has no finger gap between the wheels and fender?

BTW the top nut I have is a 22mm nut. Not the 21mm that OEM uses. Is that correct?
