R53 stock springs on a r56?

Just wondering if anyone has tried doing this swap since the R53 is lower than the R56. I am interested in doing this because I could probably get the stock R53 springs for cheap and just want to lower my R56 a little bit. I just need to know if the R53 springs will fit on the R56 suspension parts. Thanks.

I suspect not! Barrel size and shape of the springs.

Why not go with WMW/TSW R56 springs, very workable and not expensive. $230 plus shipping.

Modest drop, linear, very well engineered.

The amount of pre-load/compression is very different too...so the spring rate very different..also due to the cars weight...
