Has anyone installed the EBC red brake pads on a Non S cooper? I have a 2009 Non S and I after consulted with a sale rep at EBC, he suggested few parts numbers and I ordered it. Unfortunately, the parts suggested by EBC sale rep didn't fit the Non S cooper. Any suggestions?

Return them. You should not put non fitting parts on your car.

Same thing happened to me. EBC seems very confused about what fits what car.

So how are you liking the reds? I had yellows on my last car and they were way too much for the street and I am thinking of getting the reds for my MINI.

So far I LOVE them. They have less of the initial grabby-ness of the OEM pads, but will stop on a dime!

The brake dust is drastically reduced and seems to come off easier when cleaned. They are far from Dustless pads, but reduce it effectively.

I would reccommend them.

FYI, check with any performance brake pad supplier (HAWK, Perf. Friction, CARBOTECH, etc.): Install new pads on old rotors. Install old pads on new rotors, unless you have to do the total job. That requires more bed-in time and seasoning.

At this point, I am EXTREMELY pleased with the EBC pads. not near as grippy at initial touch, but will stop on a dime.

FAR less brake dust and they have bed in nicely...no squeal, very quiet.

+1 for EBC redstuff pads

I put a set of these on the front of my 07 MCS back when no one really knew what part number to use. They have been great. I was also looking for the lower initial bite (less grabby) and these pads did exactly that and more. They did have some minor squeaking while bedding in. They dust less than stock, but the dust seems a bit harder to clean off my stock wheels than dust from stock pads. I've had Hawk HPS, but that was on a WRX, so I really can't compare them directly to the redstuff on the Mini. They do seem a bit harder on the rotors, but I've heard than many european rotors are "softer" cast iron to improve noise.

I will buy them again without hesitation when the time comes.

I will also support the statement that these pads are awesome in every way. Quiet, super low dust, very responsive and less bite on initial brake engagement but ultimately out perform the stock pads.

Quick question: does anyone have the part no? I ordered the rear brakes on Amazon for my 2007 Mini Cooper S (R56), part no DP31701C , and they're the wrong format. Amazon, too, seems confused about what fits an R56 MINI, just as EBC themselves, as sharpdrssman and slinger688 pointed out. MiniMania looks like it has the correct brakes, but their part no is, I guess, some kind of internal part no (g2nmb2024), and they're about $20+ shipping more than Amazon sells them for.

Go to EBC directly and get the part number or autoanything.com (that was the cheapest I could find). I have been running my reds for about 3 months now. With powerslot slotted rotors thes things are awesome. Stops great and very very evenly. As stated before they are not as grippy as the stock ones on initial contact but when they do hook up the car stops and it does it faster then the stock ones. Also they don't dust anywhere near as bad as the stock pads. which is great on white wheels. They get dirtier from road dirt then brake dust. If anyone is considering these pads you won't be disappointed with them.

@Porthos

Ok, thanks, but autoanything.com lists the wrong part, too. The actual pads don't have those hooks. I just ordered some on eBay that looked like the correct part (dp31931c). Amazon's listing looked different from either, but I received the part pictured on the autoanything listing. As I said, my old pads didn't have those hooks

I loved my RedStuff - now I have Porterfields and they are working very well also.

As for ordering the Redstuff, I got mine from Way Motor Works - he'll guarantee you get the right pads for your Mini.

What hooks? You need a part to hold onto the brake sensors. And if you are looking at the pic that is shown that is not for a MINI. that is just a generalization of what the pad looks like. I ordered mine through them and got the right parts.

Thank You, we keep all the redstuff in stock. They have been really good pads. I still need to add some of them to the website.

Great Pads, however still squeaky after 15,000 miles. Mainly in the mornings.

I have also found that the Redstuff pads work great with the TSW slotted rotors. I drive my car hard on the autobahn and they hold up great. I have never have had to wonder if they are going to grab or not and dusting is WAY down below stock dust levels. The EBC's are not the nicest pads for stock rotors though so if you are planning on doing a brake job with them decide against stock rotors.

When the time comes I will be putting on Porterfield R4-S pads on my R56. I have them on my RX-8, Porsche 914, F250 Super Duty, I am working to have some made for my Shifter kart.

In my opinion these are the best pads EVER. They just flat work good.

I'm running Hawk HPS pads on front with TSW Rotors and EBC Redstuff pads in back with stock rear replacement rotors. so i can't exactly comment on how teh ebcs are alone... but the combo i'm running is an absolute dream for street.. very good cold bite without being overly touchy... easily modulated... works great for fast highway and backroad bombing as well and even two track days... considering i'm running a Stage 4 power piece, i'm very happpy with this setup... so from what i know of ebc reds, they are very nice and when bedded in stock like in noise but significantly better in terms of braking power.
