I just installed some Alta front end links and adjusted them as short as possible. Then I read somewhere else that I should have done them longer which is kind of anti-intuitive for me I guess?!

So, is it supposed to be longer or shorter in the front???

The best is to adjust them so the sway bar is horizontal in position (---) when the car is sitting on a flat location. If you have a good friend, you can get in the car and he can adjust all four adjustable end links (both front and rears) so that they are all horizontal.
