Installing Rear Sway Bar

I got a smokin deal on a 19mm H&R swaybar. It is not as adjustable as some of the others out there. It only has two holes. I want to set it up on the stiffer of the two settings, am I correct in thinking that I should use the hole closest to the bend to make it stiffer?

Thanks for the help.

Now I am using the instructions for the Alta 19mm bar for assembly and disassembly because I have never done this before. The instructions call out a 21mm bolt that holds the strut spring assembly on. My car appears to have a 19mm one. Am I looking at the wrong thing? Any idea on what the torque spec is on this?

Look at the better nm eng sway bar instructions with this link:

Ok well I had other instructions from 2 other manufacturers. now I am having what I percieve to be a major issue. The other instructions did not say to only loosen the sub frame bolts on the left hand side of the car. I went to remove the center left one and some threads came along with. Major problem or just move forward?

The instructions posted work well. You have to loosen the subframe. It is easier to remove the old bar and install the new one if one side of the subframe was off and the other side loosened.

Any pics on the threads?

I think I stripped the threads that are internal in the frame that the sub frame bolts to. Not good.

How many were stripped? Is it all the way or just a little?

You will need a tap and die kit to redo the threads for a more permanent solution. Any good mechanic can do this for you.

As a temp solution, you can reassemble with blue lock tight (non permanent) but do not over torque it.
