LOL... What was a simple tongue-in-cheek comment has spurred a debate!

Alright...that explains well how to find the center of mass of an object. Saying that it is in a uniform gravity field (technically it's not) basically means it is small enough so that the force of gravity on it at all points is the same. So what exactly does the center of gravity mean? I can understand mass...but gravity? What actually is gravity? We know what the force due to gravity is and how to calculate it, but what is it?

Take a physics class, or read about it on Wikipedia...

I'll tell you what is easy to define!:A car that corners well vs one that handles like a drunken manatee!! So now that we have had a round of pontification and platitude with a side of psuedo-intellect,I'll be ordering my TSW X BRACE soon. Thanks guys at TSW for feedback.

I have. I know what the force due to gravity is and how it behaves, but what exactly is it? Apparently you know, none of my professors did, please explain...

Oh, snap! Can we use this in promotional material?

Instead of 'Track Tested, Track Tough', we'll use, 'Because nobody wants their car to handle like a drunken manatee!'

Is there a story behind this 'handling like a drunken manatee' anyway?

I wasn't going to pry...

These are also known as 'Mopeds', 'Two baggers' and other various and sundry, colorful phrases...

Problem is, a manatee is NOT a cheap drunk. I put 5 fifths of Cristall into the last one I tried to pick up, before I gave up and went home.

cartar452: Check with Einstein: he was the one who first defined gravity mathematically as an effect of mass, which causes a warp in space-time. Oh yeah, he's dead. Well, try Stephen Hawking then...

Next time you talk to any physicist ask them what gravity is and see what they say. You may be surprised...

I haven't talked to any physicists this month, but I've read both of Hawking's latest books, cover to cover: "A Brief History of Time", and "A Briefer History of Time".

Have you?

And Oh, BTW, why are you wasting MINI people's time on this silly discussion? Is this in any way relevant to discussion of the CG of a MINI?

'A Brief History of Time' is Hawking's latest? Wow...perhaps you are on a different space-time continuum then the rest of it...I read it WAY back in high school when a 5.0GT was cool.

One can only hope that TSW knows what a compliment it is to be mentioned along side such names as "Einstein" and "Hawkings"!!
