Eibach Springs...Delayed

I ordered Eibach springs for my R56 back on 3/18/08 and was informed shipment would be 4/10/08. I just received notice that Eibach has to redisign the rear springs, so now the ETA is 5/16/08. Anybody know what's up with this delay? Wonder if Eibach is changing the rates or drop of the rear springs? Hmm.

I canceled my Eibach order and went ahead and bought H&R Street Performance coilovers. Nice set up.

FWIW, my Eibach's arrived from Tire Rack Friday morning, however, I noticed the Tire Rack website isn't listing the Eibach springs anymore.

We've got a set here, sold a few at MOTD as well. They look great on the car.

How much is the drop with the Eibach? I'm looking to stay as close to 1 inch as possible.

NM...Eibach site says 1.2 inches

it's about an inch unsettled, and a hair more after driving for a week (compared to the stock sport suspension). They're a pretty nice ride, I'm happy...

of course once the car's out of warranty & the shocks have worn out, I'll definitely be buying some quality matched coilovers.

Do you have some before and after shots? Maybe post them. I couldn't get a too clear an indication of the drop from your gallery. Love the rims by the way.

I don't have any after pictures in my gallery yet, or any taken, but we are having a dyno day with the local Mini club (www.PSMini.org), so I'll try & get some pictures.
measured to the top of the fender opening was ~26" after springs ~25" it was a perfectly even 1" drop initially and settled another approx. 1/4"

Cool...I'm considering TSW after they get theirs sorted out, and Eibach, as they don't drop the car as aggressively.

Mine have been on for almost a week. Love the look. The ride is a bit rougher but nothing I can't handle. Hard cornering is a much more controlled feeling now. Wheels next and toss the run flats in the storage room. Just like my BMW's were, they are horrible.

Do you have pics? And did you measure the drop?

OK.
I measured from the ground up to the arch. Did not know if wheel/tire combos could hinder your decision. With my trusty Fat Max tape I am at 25" both front and rear. Give or take a smidgen.
The Fat Max is named appropriately you know. It looks perfect to me. This is the first car I have ever lowered and I have had more vehicles than I have fingers and toes.
She needed it!

If I try and eye ball from arch to tire top it looks like 1" front and rear. I have AADD (a camcorder on me pinstripping my viper stripes would have made great YouTube material).
I tried.

Can anyone confirm that Eibach is indeed redesigning their springs for the R56?

I'm looking to order soon but they are no longer listed on Tirerack and I wonder if I should just wait until after this 're-design'

Ambrosia,

I recently called Eibach and asked about the springs being redesigned and they told me they were not....they were just on back order.

I then ordered a set and will be installing them in the next week or two.

Just got the eibach springs installed over the weekend (bday gift from the bf and he ordered them from jsc speed). Car looks great and the ride is significantly improved...not harsh at all and the car handles so much better and feels much more confident in turns, etc. I'm very very pleased with the springs so far Tomorrow I get my new wheels, tires and an alignment!
