Suspension Lowering for looks...
Lowering for looks...
2007 MCSa, bone stock, so far.
I'm liking the looks of the lowered cars I see flitting about town and on the boards here.
I'm sure this question has been asked, but I've read every recent (6 mos back) thread on it and I can't find it. Then, again, I'm lazy too.
If I want to lower the car just for looks, which way is the best way to go?
Can I do it myself?
I'm not talking cutting springs and clamping springs or doing anything else cheap or redneck backyard mechanic style, I'm good with buying quality products and the like. My point is that I just don't need the ultra uber cool racing style lower kits or anything quite as fancy as that, if I'm only going for looks mostly.
Thanks in advance.

How low do you think the car looks its best? Some people love it when it's really slammed and some just like a simple lowering to remove the wheel gap.
If you're looking for the slammed look....the KW v1's are a great deal. They don't have all the adjustability of other coilovers (no a problem if you are doing it for looks), but their price is great and they can go really low.

First, I'm an IDIOT! I put this in the first gen section. Great, now I will have thousands of hate mail and first gen zombies knocking down my door!
I suck, sorry.
Rally - basically just to get rid of the 4x4 look. Slammed is overkill and I still use this as a daily driver 75 miles roundtrip, so I need to keep it somewhat comfy.

Funny thing is, what I think works great for "racing" is a good set of springs, possibly coilovers. I think coilovers are overkill if you're just going for looks, but the problem with slamming a mini is the lack of suspension travel. I have only 1" drop on my R53 and it looks hot on 18" wheels with 215/35s
