Suspension Palo Uber Snafu...
The 2007 F1 Regulations can be found here http://www.fia.com/sport/Regulations/f1regs.html
Article 12 discusses wheels and tyres. There is NO reference at all to construction of the wheel retaining nut. In fact, F1 uses a single large nut in a centerlock construction.
Then I looked at the FIA Standards, they sure do have a lot of them. THre is NOT one for Wheel Retaining Devices.
Again P.U. Fails to tell the truth.

They must eat Filet Mignon everyday to create that grade of BS....
your sort of right, i dont mean to start an argument, but the black phosphate is coating more than a plating, but most gr8 stuff i use is studs, so they are totally unplated/coated. I had actually forgot about all those yellow gr8 bolts i have lying around anyway, haha. Thanks for the info tho. Is there one more grade to go yet? I keep thinking there is one more above gr8 yet, 10 or something, and around 15.? in metric? Is that so, or am i crazy?
thanks
I know we probably can't get a "ban PU" sticky, but can we get some sort of massive thread going that gets bumped to the top every day to let would-be shoppers know about the dangers of PU products?

Oh man, poor Palo Uber, you guys shouldn't be mocking an obscure artist. When Palo gets the recognition he deserves and is mentioned in the same breath as Monet, Picasso, and Pollack then you guys won't be laughing. An Uberized MINI is going to be worth big bucks.
Thats why I am saving my antenna by keeping it on my desk and not letting it see the light of day. I figure it will be worth a whole lot more in it's pristine condition instead of fading to purple in a few hours outside.
That's cold!

Why do we have to PM him? I didn't know he was a vendor? Unfortunatly the PU ext. wing is still the best looking option out there, it is really not that expensive compared to anything else.
Why reward a poor vendor by patronizing them, especially when you are giving them free advertising because that wing has their "signature" on it?
gnatster - you obviously need the PU "Bullet" antenna
From PU's site:
If he didn't exist, than how could UBER HIMSELF shape every single one of these antennas?
And if he didn't shape them himself, why would art collectors be buying these antennas?
I guess we were wrong about PU.
And from the vendor announcement:
Finally!!! Someone figured out how to preserve radio reception when I drive so fast that I outrun the radio waves!
From PU's site:
Inspired by UBER watching Formula one, he researched their use of amazingly small antenna's to maintain communication between the driver and crew.
Each "Bullet antenna" is hand shaped by PALO UBER himself....2002-20006 and 2007 applications. A pressure fit solid copper rod runs the length of the antenna, resulting in unbelievable reception........................ This UBER design and complete execution of each antenna by UBER HIMSELF is only 1 3/4 inches tall and creates a simply unbelievable visual impact, conveying absolute performance. This Hand crafted antenna by UBER has been purchased by art collectors worldwide (see www.palouber.com ) for significance....... As far as we are aware, this is the WORLDS ONLY "solid copper core antenns". Following the insertion of the copper rod, Uber cuts sections to be placed on the lather, which he shapes by hand, finish sands by hand and then is annodized in clear, producing the glow of perfection...........
And if he didn't shape them himself, why would art collectors be buying these antennas?
I guess we were wrong about PU.
And from the vendor announcement:
Designed by Uber, and turned on the lathe by Uber makes this a very collectable pristine piece. We include the appropriate screw fitting for both applications, 2002=06 and 07 , in each package. No one we know of, has ever gone to such lengths to have a solid copper rod inserted to achieve absolute clarity, regardless of how fast you are driving.....
I know, I know -- I shouldn't make fun of it when I haven't purchased and owned one of their products. . . but they just make it soooo easy, and do you really need to pay the $98 to realize this is BS?
How can anyone write that with a straight face? I can almost picture 2 guys sitting in an office with a case of beer, laughing and saying "Hey, look what I wrote . . . try to top that!" "Oh man, good one. That's almost as funny as my description for the $70 "nitrogen-safe aircraft aluminum valve stems!"
