Suspension Strut Tower or Underside Brace? Another one..
After long discussion on this thread, I have decided and bought the OMP lower brace at www.driversedgeautosport.com here in Vancouver for C$ 88 (12% tax included). Good deal indeed.
The brace is light and quality looks very good however there were no bolts included.
As I have not been under the car yet, is there an existing bolt where it is suppose to be bolted that I can re-use? If new bolts are suggested, what size and length should I buy?
Thanks.
Ed

Any dealer should have them in stock. You will need 2.

Lift the front end high enough to safely work under, and take a look back behind the engine. There is a flexible plastic piece that hangs down slightly. Look just behind and to the sides of that piece and you will see two bolts, one on either side. You can slide the bar back that way and see how it should fit. Post #89 shows the correct placement. Use those two bolts and install the bar. I reused the same bolts and have not had a problem. It takes longer to lift the car and look at the underside than it takes to install the bar. Then have fun driving!

It's good friday long week-end here in Canada and had the chance to install my OMP lower brace today. The 16 mm bolts were a little hard to take off but after some penetrating oil and hot air from hair dryer, it came off. I re-used the bolts. Installation took about 45 minutes due to that. I did not totally go under the car as the bolts were accessible from the outside.
Like some members here, I noticed that the annoying creaks in the dashboard when I turn into my backlane driveway that has an up slope hump are gone! I take that as I proof that flexing was probably controlled to a certain extent. I also agree that it slightly felt more solid. I have not done high speed turn ins yet but so far very happy specially for the price that I paid of C$ 88!
