I am curious about the noise and harshness comment. Anyone put these in yet with some on the road experience?

How does a camber plate add noise and harshness to the ride?

You're basically removing the large bushing/bearing combination and replacing it with the camber plate. Many of the camber plates still incorporate some kind of bushing to absorb road vibrations and bumps, though the bushing is often smaller. The smaller bushing (or lack of bushing at all) can lead to a stiffer ride as well as introducing noise from the new metal spherical bearings. Some camber plates (often designated as race versions) remove the bushing completely, making the camber plate a solid mounting point which obviously leads to noises and stiffness as well.

The fixed camber plates from IE use the stock upper spring perches and OEM beairngs. You're basically just moving the point in. Most of the adjustable ones use smaller bearings and stiffer materials than stock that make a noisy/harsher plate.

I ran the IE adjustable camber plates for well over a year. The bearing ball exhibited some wear and became a bit "clunky." About a month ago, I replaced the IE plates with the Vorshlag/Texas Speed Works adjustable plates. The Vorshlag plates have the heftiest bearings I've ever seen in a camber plate and look like they are built to stand up to long/hard service. I was at the track this past weekend and with 2+ degrees of camber the car was awesome. Highly recommended!

Alta makes the PSRS "Positive steering response system" that as well as replacing your soft bushing gives you caster adjustment upto and extra 1.5 degrees.

I put these camber plates in my cooper about a month ago along with koni yellows and TSW springs. For street use I usually have the yellows only set about 1/2 turn from full soft and there is not any additional noise. If the koni's are set any higher than that there will be plenty of interior rattles on rough roads as you would expect as it is so stiff.

For autocross I set the shocks at least 1/2 way between stiff and soft and I guess there could be noise but who knows as I can't hear it with the helmet on.
