Ooohhh what's this talk about a turbo replacement? :yum:
Love my exhaust... wish it was catless though so I could go stage 3...
Yeah been purely performance oriented recently since I'm going to be heading down to FixxFest (car show in FL) mid November with 8 or 9 staged gti's and audis so I had to have everything working right haha. Had GPop shop make me a k03 with stronger internals and whatnot (can't afford going big turbo right now, that would mean serious platform changes), then did an extensive carbon cleaning, replaced all the hosing and piping that I could afford and redid the coilpacks and sparks. Putting my wheel spacers on soon so that will take away a little of the overwhelming need to go lower, but yeah. Neverending journey as I'm sure you know .

Oh man, that's awesome! Did the turbo upgrade give you a big increase in performance? HP/TQ numbers before and after?
And I seriously hope that that is real... i want those fenders... imagine the possibilities of wheels! The sound of 10" wide wheels is music to my ears.

Unfortunately I haven't been dynoed in ages. Closest places are in Florida and I don't really know where to go. The output isn't too much different though, just much more consistent boost and I don't have to worry about overworking the turbo. In overboost I haven't seen it go past 18.6 psi but it spools so quick and holds really steady so I'm completely satisfied. Once I'm out of grad school and have some time I'll be getting a cheap daily driver, putting the mini away and beginning a full drivetrain overhaul, upgraded pistons rods cams etc. and then going big turbo. But that's a long way away haha, for now I've accepted my 1.6T is what it is
I actually live in Chicago now. Went through last winter just fine. Did better than my other half's scion tc. Just gotta have good tires. I'm using kuhmos(sp?). Can't remember the specs of them right now. Just woke up. Haha
People who experience real winters should turn their coilovers up atleast an inch and make sure you put a lot of anti-seize on the threads. You will thank me later, after a few utah winters with slammed cars i can tell you its not worth it.
almost everyone i know in the utah scene will raise their cars for the winter and switch tires/wheels for safety.
This my car now lowered on JIC-Cross Coilovers. I have 43 threads left i can go down in the front and am only down about 10 from the top. Rear has 18 threads left.
Much better ride than the KW V1s and I was able to setup a few degrees of neg camber in the front so i can run take tire with a +20 offset without worrying now. For now I need to get my 10MM spacers back on.
