Door lock problems
04 MC 41K miles, drivers side :(
Just failed, it's still intermittent, extended warranty expired in late January, if I get quoted $400 or more for what is obviously poor part/engineering I am going to be very unhappy...

Driver's side door just quit yesterday (03 MCS 71K). The remote, as well as the switch locks and unlocks all others (i.e., passenger door, boot and gas cap), however, there is no response from the driver's side door. I am able to unlock it from inside with the handle as usual, and from outside manually with the key. When I put my ear to the door and listen while locking/unlocking with the remote, I hear the gas cap modulator engage in the rear, but I dont hear anything from the driver's side. Is it safe to assume that the regulator is gone, since it does not seem to be an issue with the cables? Is it true that this will cost around $400!!!!?
Thanks in advance for your time.

Driver's side failed. The power lock switch won't lock or unlock the door, but oddly, the remote will LOCK, but not unlock the door!
So, I can lock the car with the remote, but I have to unlock it with the key.

03 MCS 90k miles, driver door will only open / close with a key. Ordered the actuator from Jayson at Classic Auto Campus (a NAM Vendor), mentioned NAM and got the part for $82.
I plan on installing it myself. Doesn't look too hard.

Just happened today....
'03 MCS, ~38k miles. Drivers side.
Worked first thing this morning using remote. Auto locking worked also. Locked doors when I got to work. Went out at lunch just to sit in car and listen to the radio, drivers side wouldn't unlock with remote, but windows and sun roof opened OK. Door will unlock by pulling on inside door handle. Electric lock switch on console doesn't do it either. Just tried listening for sounds of actuator in the drivers door with negative results.
There wouldn't happen to be a separate fuse for each actuator, would there?

Another door latch cable problem
05 MCS 87,000 miles
Driver side door inside latch latch stopped working yesterday. I suspect it's the cable issue. Feels like it almost wants to open when you operate th elatch.

You just need a new cable, or just to make sure its still connected. Some tend to work loose, and then you can open from the inside. New cable ~$12, and about 15 minutes to replace. My dads 05 cable fell out of its connector, once I put it back in ( about a year ago now) its been fine.
For all you guys w/ actuator problems ~$95 and 45 minutes to replace. Mine died a few months back, and I replaced it myself, at 175,000+ miles I figure its normal wear, and not covered under warrenty.
Oh its an 03 mcs
