Help: Replacement Windshield – Wind Noise
Help: Replacement Windshield – Wind Noise
The rock hit windshield on my 4000 mi 2006 MSC was replaced recently (a common practice here in Arizona) and now, I have a "nice" whistling sound when I go 70 75 mph. I watched the guy replacing the windshield and he seemed to know what he was doing. Also the top trim piece looks tight against the glass.
Any tricks to it? Any advice? I’ll go back to the insurance company and see what they say but I wanted to find out if there are special procedures the installation guy did not follow.

About a year ago, I had the same issue after a windshield replacement by the Mini dealer body shop. No noise until I reached 50 MPH. The whistle seemed to be originating at the top center of the glass. I returned the car and the glass guy reworked the seal. No wind noise since.
I would take it back and have them rework the seal.

You are right about it is a common practice in Arizona.I moved after 10 years in Tucson, its the way chip and seal is used as a method of repairing roads there.I have read the Insurance Industry spends 40 million dollars a year on replacing and repairing windshields.Q
